Ao no 6-gou

The Animation Kobe (アニメーション神戸) was an event established by Kobe in 1996 to promote anime and other visual media. The Animation Kobe Awards (アニメーション神戸賞) were given annually until 2015 by Kobe and the Organizing Committee to creators and creations.

The packaged media distributed in Japan from September of the previous year to August of the event year become candidates. The candidates are selected not only from Japan but also from other countries. However, the committee sees more importance in a point of view promoting young creators of Japan.

Shows where ships play some fairly notable part in the story. Stack is biased toward ocean-going vessels. Submarines are also included.

Collection of series that feature mermaids as characters or as a theme of the series.

These are anime with unique settings and interesting world-building. Some of these are longer and have more time to flesh out the world-building, while others are shorter but very unique.

This is a list of anime with the sci-fi/fantasy theme of cosmic horror. It commonly features monstrous beings or great leviathans. It's sometimes complimented by biopunk, a sci-fi genre about the use of biotechnology.

Cosmic horror features Lovecraftian themes of eldritch otherworldly influences. They may have control over humanity, or have driven us to near extinction. There is often little hope for a better future. The true nature of the world is commonly hidden and revealed as the story unfolds.


The anime on this list embody this trope to varying degrees. I'll be adding to this list as time goes on.

A subgenre of science fiction that focuses on biotechnology. Includes anime with biotechnology even if it isn't a primary theme.

Locomotion was a subscription television channel that broadcast various genres of adult animation 24 hours a day.

Its administrative headquarters and its broadcast center were located in Miami (United States) and, since mid-2003, the broadcast center was moved to Buenos Aires (Argentina).

What stood out the most from the programming was the massive inclusion of uncensored anime, several of these broadcast in the original language with subtitles for the first time in Latin America.

The channel was a space for the counterculture and the alternative young adult public of the time.
