Violence Jack: Hell's Wind-hen

Do you like watching trashy 80/90s OVAs and movies that are violent, stupid, and nonsensical? Well this list is for you. Some of these are pretty famous in the community like Violence Jack and M.D. Geist, but I made sure to really dumpster dive for some obscure trash for all of you garbage connoisseurs out there.

A selection of shows that centralizes on the idea of evil, whether as a direct presence or a symbolic representation, that revels in themes of hostility, corruption, debauchery and death that ultimately, cause the grievous and tragic collapse of one's sense of humanity. Due to its dark nature, this list is unfiltered and therefore, may display lurid elements that are problematic. But if you're here to seek the thrills of violence and the spills of blood, then witness the dance of the Devil.

Caveats:

• Most entries contain explicit materials, including gore and sexual content.
• Anime formats vary from film, anthology, short/ova and full-length series.
• If there are recommendation, I'll provide an extended note in the caption.

Before the likes of Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon conquering the kids in the west, it was actually Akira that opened the door and made people realize that the cartoons coming from Japan weren't what you would expect from Disney or your TV channels.
A huge flood of VHS tapes came showing animations with mature themes, absurd plots, and enough graphic sex and violence to make parents freak out... what a glorious time!
They don't make cartoons like this anymore.

This is a comprehensive list with stuff from very good to very trashy, but all in the same spirit.
Some early 00's also included.

I have collect some cosmic horror anime, hope you guys enjoy!

Anime that don't cover the entire story of the source material. If you want to know how the story ends, you have to read the source. For this stack, I'll only count anime whose source material has finished and properties that have yet to receive a complete adaptation, which means series like the 2001 Hellsing TV show or the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist adaptation won't be included. If a series here later gets a complete adaptation, it may disappear from this stack as well.

This stack will NOT include anime that was shot in 16:9 but have releases that were cropped to 4:3, since that defeats the purpose and really is just an inferior version of the original.
