A two-episode OVA series that, for reasons that eludes me, is not very well known or appreciated. Guy is one of those anime that belong to the late ’80s and early ’90s trend characterized by violence, action, and in this case also erotic content. Although it is labeled as hentai, in reality such material is limited (mostly concentrated in the first episode), albeit well animated and of decent length. This is absolutely not a negative aspect; on the contrary, it enriches a product that, from a storytelling standpoint, would otherwise have little to offer, given that each of the episodes run for about 30 minutes.

direction is by Uchida Yorihisa, who has mainly worked on minor productions and not very consistently over the years. All things considered, however, he does a good job, also thanks to the storyboard being entrusted to the much better-known Oobari Masami (Bubblegum Crisis, Soukihei MD Geist, Tatakae Iczer-1, AD Police, and many others).
The two main characters, Guy and Reina, are decidedly charismatic and well characterized, making them enjoyable despite being stereotypical in their roles as space fortune hunters. Episodes 1 and 2 are also sufficiently different in terms of themes and action to justify watching them without boredom. An OVA series that entertains and that, in my opinion, would have benefited even more from a series of at least five or six episodes. Animation could have been better, but overall I've definitely seen worse and it quite fits the style and scope of the production. Want to have a fun, bite-sized adventure with a sprinkle of space opera and steamy scenes? Well, Guy's got you covered!
