Piano no Mori

Films that were nominated for the Best Animation of the Year prize given by the Japan Academy Film Prize Association, first awarded in 2007. All five nominees are awarded the Excellent Animation of the Year (優秀アニメーション作品) by the association.

This list only contains entries which were nominated, but did not win the Best Animation of the Year prize.

There are many music related anime out there, but music is a rather broad term. Some anime focus more on the singing aspect, others more on the stage show, and some anime are just music videos. This stack is a collection of music related anime where instruments play a larger role. Some characters are simply learning to play these instruments, others play in a band or they use them for special occasions. All kinds of instruments are collected here, such as the piano and keyboard, violins and guitars, brass instruments (trumpet, tuba, trombone, horn, etc.), fluets and others.

Everyone knows Studio Ghibli's amazing work, but what about the other studios?

Most of the Top Movies are related to an anime series, so it is not too easy to find something which can be watched without any previous knowledge.

I will list those standalone movies which I enjoyed besides the Ghibli shows.

Anime shows and movies that have or will have a German dub, but do not currently have an English dub.

Masayuki Kojima is a Japanese animator, storyboard artist, and director, best known for directing the acclaimed anime series Monster and Made in Abyss. He was born on March 11, 1961, in Yamanashi, Yamanashi, Japan.

Through hours and hours combing through interest stacks, Wikipedia, online rankings, and various MyAnimeList pages, I've finally compiled the ultimate music stacks, carefully sorted and ordered with love. The love comes from watching these characters in their ensembles giving it their all on their instruments, and from being a musician myself.
