1+2=Paradise

Yuusuke Yamamoto has a crippling phobia of women, and understandably so—the twin girls living next door tried to cut off his penis as a child. Unfortunately, Yuusuke's father is a gynecologist and needs him to overcome his fear so he can inherit the family business. To accomplish this, Yuusuke's father offers sanctuary to sisters Rika and Yuka Nakamura in their home while the girls are studying at the nearby college.

In a terrible twist of fate, when Yuusuke realizes that their guest room is too small for two people, he is forced to choose which of the sisters is allowed to stay. Desperate to win his favor, the brazen Yuka and the more reserved Rika are willing to do whatever it takes to impress and eventually sway Yuusuke—even if it means making things physical and personal.

This is a surreal, sometimes uncannily terrifying, but also hilarious anime about two twins trying to win over a boy's love. It's subtextually about recovery from psychological trauma through connection and comedy. It's ambitious and unhinged with its humor and its narrative structure is highly versatile, going from a school romcom to a large-scale circus infiltration/rescue mission. The characters are eccentric yet complex, and are utilized to help Yuusuke overcome his traumatic past and fear of women. What seems like an indulgent, light-hearted comedy is actually a heartfelt message about trauma recovery. Absolute kino that changed my life, highly recommend.

Story
Story is fairly simple. A boy brought down with a curse. Question is will the guilt party be able to cure it? As for how the story is told i am a bit conflicted. The introduction was perfect. Not only did it sum up what was to come in the future but the viewer like the main character were on the same page, dumbfounded with clues. As the story progressed more insight was brought in. In all the story could be told by a couple scenes. In other words while the show was an okay production the remaining about 70 percent or ... so was ecchi/comedy based. Good i guess if either is your favorite. However, i find a show that has more plot is more entertaining. For ecchi based shows grow weak after a point. Much like eating your favorite ice cream. If you have too much you will get a headache. If you don't have enough you will be hungry for more. Which is why i feel only a little is needed. Especially if the character tree branch is small. Now, if the show was plot heavy it would be hard for a show to grow dull. For one wouldn't know generally what was to come next.

Art
Did not stay true. This show had two episodes. I understand the director or someone wanted to show progression in life but their idea of not keeping certain aspects of the characters was a great mistake. For it made the viewer confused if this was the same show or not. For example. you may have decided to watch this show given the blonds shown. In this show let's say you will see that but you won't. A true statement to don't judge a book by its cover.

I also understand some viewers like myself might find certain portions of the show; especially the first episode to be a tad bright but color tools weren't as great as they are now.

Overall: If plot was more the key aspect and characters remained true i don't see why this show wouldn't fair well. Although, with neither being true i can understand why this show did not fly off the shelves.

When they ask me an anime that is bad in all aspects, this anime always comes to mind, why? well I'll explain that to you in this review

Story (2/10) and enjoyment (4/10):
The story is quite simple and generic, with the only interesting aspect being the protagonist's fear of women. Also sometimes there can be "funny situations" since this anime does not take itself very seriously, only the first few minutes of this anime will make you question what the fuck are you watching. Somehow this anime manages to be one of those bad anime that can be enjoyed for that very reason.

Characters (2/10):
The characters ... are onedimensional and boring, Barako, despite being also a shitty character, is at least a bit charismatic, but the other characters are completely forgettable.

Art and sound: (2/10):
Now, if the story was already very bad, in animation it is even worse, i never saw a j.c staff anime with good animation, it came out in ova format and even with that the animation is terrible.
The voice acting is mediocre.


With nothing more to say I end this review giving to "1+2=paradise" a 2/10
