Mellow

This anime is not suited for soft and sensitive people, it appeared in the early 90s and definitely has that atmosphere and types of jokes. Just as how much Genocyber is violent, Mellow is as crude and offensive.

Main character Akira is a womanizer, gambling addict and alcoholic who has to cross-dress as his sister also named Akira and be a teacher at a public school filled with scum students. It's not a drama or a coming of age story, not even an educational anime, it's a comedy.

Problems are fixed here by fighting, lies are normal day to day use, insults and swear words will be ... shouted a lot. The gimmick of this story is that Akira is cross-dressing for a reason hence he doesn't want to be discovered, issues arose because he can't hide away his violent nature so the viewers will be left with the situation if he'll get discovered or not. The stakes are high for if his secret is out, yakuza will cut off his wiener.

I'm a rude person myself and I enjoy jokes and behavior that most people, mostly younger than me find it disturbing. A hilarious scene that represents perfectly the overall humor of the show is when Akira tried to solve a suicidal student's problem with an unconventional solution. Cry all you want that we shouldn't make fun of suicides, if I laughed then it was a good time watching.
I also enjoyed the groping and the bare tits shown, this anime has a real hottie, too bad she's afraid of men but Akira will try to bed her of course.

The art is mediocre though they did excel at the facial expressions, drawn extremely detailed and they appeared very impactful. Imagine the usual 80s anime if you wanna understand how the characters look like, I guess it is kinda dated for a 1993 OVA, the big moe eyes were already the norm.

The voice actors perfectly match their roles, Akira is hilarious, same as the other students, not that that they are important, it's mostly a one man show with Akira doing stupid things and reacting to stuff.

Sadly it lacks a conclusive ending, we shall never know if Akira managed to escape the hell of cross-dressing but it doesn't matter, the strengths of Mellow are the vulgar comedic events and the sexy scenes, if you can stomach scandalous themes, then this anime is for you.
