Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!

After dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game, high school student and recluse Kazuma Satou finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua. She provides the NEET with two options: continue on to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer's dream—a real fantasy world! Choosing to start a new life, Kazuma is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he goes, he can choose one item of any kind to aid him in his quest, and the future hero selects Aqua. But Kazuma has made a grave mistake—Aqua is completely useless!

Unfortunately, their troubles don't end here; it turns out that living in such a world is far different from how it plays out in a game. Instead of going on a thrilling adventure, the duo must first work to pay for their living expenses. Indeed, their misfortunes have only just begun!

A comedy you didn't expect would work, but played its role and delivered.

With that being said, Konosuba was an excellent show. It gave you essentially everything you could want. It was funny, the animation was actually quite awesome, and the cast was extremely dynamic and fleshed out. I don't have many negatives I could apply to this show other than my own personal indifference.

This show is an Isekai, but not a typical power fantasy slice-of-life Isekai. Kazuma brings Aqua into this world with him, and from then on, you know exactly what you're getting into. The show is hilarious, and if you're going just off ... the comedy tag, you will have a blast.
All of the characters in Konosuba are extremely funny and all have their little quirks that make them work so well together.

One that immediately stands out is Megumin. All she does is blast an insane explosion and then taps out for the rest of the episode. The dynamic is absolutely hilarious because Kazuma is left to just clean up the mess that's left with his pockets.

Aqua is quite the character too. She's quite dumb. But not as dumb as Kazuma. Really, everything works out for her somehow, but she also tries to ground the group to the best of her ability.

Kazuma... My boy Kazuma. Now he is really, really dumb lol, but he is carried by his maxed-out luck and a sexual desire that seems to get him into just as many situations as it gets him out of. It sounds stupid, but it actually plays so, so well.

Darkness, well... She likes pain. A lot. She is the exact trope you would expect in an anime to actually play seriously, but in the context of this story, it absolutely needs Darkness. I could not imagine this story without her.

Definitely a top-notch Isekai, and everybody should give it a try. It's definitely quite enjoyable for the story it's telling.

Mixed Feelings

Holy fanservice Batman!!

Ok, yes, this is an Isekai, so I did expect some fanservice as its apparently required in all Isekai... But I didn't expect the jiggle physics from Dead or Alive to make a cameo! Holy shmoly that was a lot... If you're not a fan of fanservice, be wary. But honestly, don't let that completely take away from the show itself!! Near enough every character (except one that I personally feel should be left in a ditch with her self-righteous ass) is fleshed out, fun to watch and mesh well together! And the story ain't half bad (even if I did scream at ... Kazuma for two episodes for being a bit too slow with realising something, but I won't say what for spoiler purposes).

Genuinely an incredibly fun watch, just need to look past the jiggles and such. Except for Aqua. Please let Aqua go home so I can stop perceiving the entitled, stuck up little girl. Also, someone get her a longer skirt. It's too short as is, even without half of the fucking thing being see through...

I gave KonoSuba a fair chance, watched both seasons, and my conclusion remained exactly the same: this humor is just not for me.
I understand the appeal. The entire cast is made of dysfunctional idiots, nobody behaves like a normal human being, and every adventure somehow becomes a complete disaster. That's the joke. I get it. I just don't find it particularly funny.
Maybe my problem is that I need to actually like the characters' stupidity to enjoy this kind of comedy, and here I mostly found myself thinking, "please, can we move on now?"
And honestly, that's perfectly fine. Comedy is incredibly subjective. A show can have ... millions of fans, iconic characters, endless memes, and still make absolutely no impact on you.
KonoSuba and I simply looked at each other and said: yeah... this isn't going to work.
