Light and Ryuuichi share a lot in common: they're both sociopaths, they're both willing to use and discard women, they both view their families as expendable, and they're both more than willing to do anything to achieve their goals. They should be best friends, really. Blue Flames is a lot more appealing to those lacking vaginas - that has to be said. The two top-tier anime for REAL MEN; those who follow the philosophy of 'treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' a little too closely. Both of these series subverts what we might consider as anime. It throws our pre-established notion of what 2d animation or animated media should be out of the window, straight to the sun to be burnt to a crisp.

Both of these '80s OVAs feature a cast of unlikable characters who are mentally unstable and do terrible things to each other.

In both of these anime, one of the main characters is a sociopath who is great at manipulating others and does so to achieve his personal goals - a "monster" of a human. The difference is that in Aoki Honoo he's a protagonist while in Monster he's antagonist.

Both OVAs are about douchebags that violently have sexual relationships with every girl around, with girls that are airheads, with only one soundtrack for the whole OST and that feel like those idiotic soft core porn B-movies.

The main characters of these two anime have a similar outlook on life & other people. (They are both psychopaths)
