Grimms Notes The Animation

- both anime are about books - both anime are also about fairy tales - in both are transformations to a fairy tale characters and fighting between these  

Both of these anime tell the story of people who can travel between universes. 

Both were some bad mobile games that got adapted into even worse anime series. Both are fantasy adventures with a very simmilar cast of characters, pacing, art style, themes and general atmosphere.  

-Both anime have fairytale and folklore motifs -Both anime feature magical transformations to fight a monster of the week -Both anime have a heavy focus on telling and rewriting your own stories 

Both anime have a similar premise where characters travel to fictional stories from our world. In both anime these stories are corrupted and the main characters have to fix these stories so that they become familiar to us again. In Pastel Memories the stories are Japanese anime (GochiUsa, Rozen Maiden etc.), while in Grimms Notes the main characters travel to western fairy tales (Cinderella, Aladin etc.) The main difference is that Pastel Memories covers a wider range of genres and has a full female cast (and the characters have more fetish points); while Grimms Notes has a better art style. 

both the series is about select hereos (authors/storybook main characters) who fight against evil trying to change the stories in famous books/fairytales 

Both are animated series based off a game. Similar to the cast in Persona, the characters in Grimms Notes are able to take on a persona that aids them in battle. The difference being the cast in Grimms Notes takes on the appearance and utilizes the abilities of fairy tale heroes and heroines to aid them iin battle; while the cast in Persona, have an entity that fights alongside them in battle. The main characters in both series are "wild cards" in that they can take on multiple and any persona while their friends are limited to one or a select few entities.
