Animes With Harem And/Or Ecchi Elements - Part 2

These are H&E series I'd categorize as "Progressive."

This doesn't indicate quality, originality, or anything sociopolitical so much as being H&E series that have priorities which radically depart from traditional H&E priorities. They could do anything from use some wacky narrative structure to implementing ecchi in some way to focusing more heavily on the MC relative to the harem. Things that go outside of the priorities stated in the traditionalist stack, and either in ways that are far too pronounced to be considered moderate, departing from tradition far too often to be considered moderate, or both.

I'm not saying these series don't tend to appeal to H&E fans, or might appeal more to people who don't typically like H&E. I'm saying that these are the series that don't adhere to traditional sensibilities within the genre, for better or for worse.

Anime that are largely about the sex lives of the characters or exploratory/educational/parody learning about sex. The level of ecchi is very different, from metaphorical (Darling in the Franxx) to open softcore (ishuzoku Reviewers)

Standalone OVAs from 2000-2009.
Eve no Jikan is labeled on MAL as an ONA, but won the OVA Category during the 2010 Tokyo Anime Award.
There are potentially other OVAs that are labeled as ONAs that aren't included in this list.

Halo Legends is an ONA.
Mizu no Kotoba is a special.
Interstella5555: The 5tory of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem is a music video.

These anime include frequent, explicit sexual content predominantly aimed at a male audience in Seinen, Yuri, or Bara titles. Sex is used as a plot device and is a primary focus in many of these anime. Like Hentai, Borderline H anime show prolonged sexual acts; but Borderline H anime censor genitalia and other elements with white outlines, mosaics, or opacity.

Shows that represent love on a human level. They succeded on showing the ups and downs of a relationship and strive for you to understand a little bit more how scary it is to be completely exposed to another person.
Cold or warm, these shows will show you the fundamental feeling of our thoughts.

Chiaki J. Konaka is a Japanese writer and novelist. He was the head writer of anime series such as Serial Experiments Lain, Digimon Tamers, and Hellsing, as well as the television drama Ultraman Gaia.
