Animes whose main characters start out as loners.

Anime series or movies with a fair amount of realistic scenery of Japanese places (depicted starting from the '80s period) like the modern cities of Tokyo and Osaka, their beautiful suburbs and districts, or a more rural or historical towns like Kamakura or even Kyoto, with a remarkable romantic, nostalgic feeling. Depicted places can be any of Japan transmitting this kind of emotions, like those depicting a modern city centre, schools, beaches, countrysides, the typical Shinto shrines or distant suburbs with typical residential districts streets during particular moments of the year or of the day, like an autumn or cherry blossom scene, or even a beautiful sunset for example, with Japanese crows and black kites in the sky singing their beautiful call, or a typical Japanese train passing along a road or a bridge, why not with the Fujiyama in the background. Anything providing a romantic and nostalgic feeling of Japanese cities is very welcome to this Interest Stack.

Some romantic anime which may have an unexpected or emotional scene to it that may make you want to cry or feel empty inside. Keep in mind some of these entries only have a little romantic subtext. This list includes no side stories.

All these romance shows will make you feel good in some way. Some might even make you cry.

Anime based in or around schools, amount does vary from partially to entirely.

Too often I find that a lot of people are disappointed that an anime they’re watching ends in a subpar, incomplete, or downright terrible way.

These anime? You don’t have to worry about that. The endings of these shows will leave you fulfilled, whether it be with a big smile on your face or crying tears of joy.

Stack including anime with narration and dialogues denoting particular focus on human romantic emotions, nostalgia, drama and solitude, as well an art style with a clear and recurrent depiction of attractive and gorgeous visual elements of Japanese landscapes, including for instance scenes with cherry trees in blossom, or creative and intense use of light for representing scenes like sunsets, starry nights and Japanese landscapes of any sort particularly recalling these kind of feelings.

The Konnichiwa Festival is a Mexican distributor dedicated to distributing anime films, and sometimes Live Action, in theaters in Mexico and Latin America. It is a distributor that I really like and, whenever I have the opportunity, I take the time to go see the films that they distribute in theaters. Sometimes they dub their films into Latin Spanish, but most of the time they are shown with subtitles, unless they are very accessible films (Your Name, A Silent Voice, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, Mirai).
