Guomin Laogong Dai Huijia 4th Season

It’s a pity they didn’t invest more in this donghua. It was a decent donghua up until season 2, but from season 3 onward the animation became awful and they changed a lot of things in the story, and for the worse. It really had the potential to be a great donghua. It’s such a shame they dragged things out so much with flashbacks in seasons 3 and 4 just to fill up the episodes instead of actually finishing the story. And honestly, I doubt they’ll ever make a season 5 to wrap everything up properly.

In the last episode, I love the fact that he ... always chose paper, scissors, and rock because it reminded him of 5-2-0, and 5-2-0 sounds like "I love you" in mandarin…

I have never submitted a review, but as this never had one I will leave this for the curious:

I began watching this anime after finding the Manhwa years ago, and suffered through it all. From the change in production team and delays, to the pause in translation for another couple years in a previous season. Thankfully somebody came along to finish translating...as poor as it may be, thank you for that champ.

So what do I think of the anime itself? At the base it's a tragic romance drama which actually has solid underpinnings. Our characters designs are enjoyable, though they change ... partway through. Lack of content was the demise of this one as your 15 minutes of showtime is shared with a couple minutes of OP/ED themes. Then...especially in the final 2 seasons you will be insulted by an endless flow of flashbacks that are literally on repeat. So don't expect much coverage of the story in the anime itself. By the time our FMC finds any happiness I suspect she will have suffered through the galaxy and be old and wrinkly by then.

Alas..be warned, the series was never finished. So be prepared to be left on a cliffhanger after the final 2 seasons of extreme repetitive flashbacks and terrible MC.

I never finished more than half the Manhwa as I was outpacing it, this may be my chance to see how things went.

Verdict...don't waste your time with the anime.
