this is a awosome adaptation of the novel with same name

STORY: its one of the greatest stories written by the legend himself tian can tu do who also wrote BTTH,the great ruler,BTTH the legend of lan yao,yuan zun.
and what is the most interesting thing is that all the different stories take place in the same universe(inter dimensional universes).

ART:the tencent studio really does a good job animating and the fight scenes are well done as well

SOUND: sound is quite good be it opening ending or the sound track of a fight or a leisure happy talk

CHARACTERS: as i have said in the story paragraph ... the man tian can tu do is a legend who is best at story flow and character writting except for some lame villains in the begining all the characters are just gonna get better and better if there is a secon season.

ENJOYMENT: i watched it after reading the manwa and still enjoed it a lot . so you can just assume how good it was

I can't believe no one gave WDQK a review? This anime is awesome to watch I couldn't wait for the next episode to come out. I am so looking forward to Season 2 please hurry lol.

Has a similar build up as most anime leads off where the MC is weak at first then becomes stronger. The MC has to protect and serve his family's honor, fight stronger villains and goes through a few trials to overcome them. Only 12eps but it's like One Punch series it draws you in.

The battles are very interesting similar to Tales of Demons and GODs the fighting tournaments.

Mixed Feelings

I'm going to rate this season while also giving you an idea of "what's next", because before you decide if starting this donghua it's important that you know that like with most cultivation donghua it's going to be a LOOONG journey (though probably not as long as One Piece) and not always a very rewarding one.

In general, the story is quite average and highly formulaic.
It repeats all typical tropes of the genre without fail, and it does it with no effort to stand out in any way.
E.g. almost everybody behaves like high-testosterone socially-impaired teenagers with 8th grade syndrome (even when they are old) whose only ... way to interact with the world is getting mega offended if you just only breathe in their direction, and you can't even defend yourself otherwise the big brother comes, and then the uncle, and then the elder, and then the sect leader and it's a f... neverending cycle of "how dare you!"
Things which always make me wonder why Chinese writers think that spirituality is a thugs war for dominance? How do they come to the idea that it's possible to cultivate the body without refining the spirit and therefore staying the f... idiot that you originally were?
Anyway, there's also the girl close to the MC who has the ice body blahblah and someone wants to take her away for special training.
And there's the typical ridiculous "you saw my naked, now you must die", in this case in the variant where a girl with higher cultivation ends having sex with the MC because she needed to purge the excess of energy, and yet afterwards instead of thanking him for basically saving her life she wants to kill him (but later on she's shown thinking about him).
Etc etc etc. Not one single shred of originality whatsoever.

It's not "bad", I have seen BAD cultivation donghua, this is good enough to be binged.
And if you manage to get past the first 2 seasons (24 eps in total) from the third one the animation becomes MUCH better.
But it's still "nothing special". The plot, if there's one (after 5 seasons I still am not sure) is rather bland. And there's nothing that made me feel like "wow, I am so happy that I discovered this donghua!". At all.
And with a 6th season airing, there's still is NO sign of ANY form of closure. I have no idea how many seasons (and therefore years) you'll need to get a closure, IF you'll get one.
You need to know this before you start watching.

Now specifically to this season: it's a little boring. You get an introduction into the personal story of the MC, typical reject of a poor branch family of the x clan, who will have to prove his worth against everybody who treats him like trash.
The first adventures, the typical lucky events that lead to immediate power-ups, some mystical creature as special ally, etc.
Basically, this season simply sets the base for the rest of the story. By itself it's a bit meh, but it's still entertaining enough.

Overall, I would only recommend starting this donghua if you already know that you like cultivation stories, or if you are curious about them and are ok with what I said above.
The fact that it's rather average makes it actually a good donghua for an introduction to the cultivation genre.
