Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita

In role-playing games, slimes are usually the easiest monster to kill, and because of that, they yield few experience points. But what would happen if you live long enough to keep defeating them for 300 years?

After many years of being a corporate slave, Azusa Aizawa abruptly passes away due to severe exhaustion. Seemingly headed for the afterlife, she meets a goddess who bestows her with immortality alongside a peaceful life in another world. There, Azusa enjoys her days tending to her farm, protecting the nearby village, and killing about 25 slimes per day—a routine that continues for at least three centuries.

However, this rather monotonous cycle begins to change when Azusa suddenly finds out that she has reached level 99—the maximum possible level—from slimes alone. Despite desperately trying to hide this fact in fear of ending her slow life, rumors of her strength spread nevertheless. Soon enough, various people throughout the continent, like the dragon Laika and the elf Halkara, start to appear at her doorstep—some seeking a battle, others asking for her assistance. Meeting friends and acquaintances who soon become family, Azusa finds she can live a life far better with others than when she was alone.

I didn't expect to be watching such a unique series in my life. The plot is terribly thin and the action moves incredibly slowly. However, everything is so ienormous dyllic that it's incredibly relaxing and sympathetic to watch. I have no idea what the target group is, whether they are 12-year-olds or lesbians, but its ok. I have no idea what to expect in the second season, whether there will be more characters again, or on the contrary, the current characters will be deepened in terms of character.
I see a great reseamblance between Halkara and Sławomir Mentzen (capacity for large amounts of beer, capitalism ... and physical features)

Mixed Feelings

Every show I watch starts at a 5/10 and I reward or deduct points based on what stood out to me.

it's a harem anime -1
it's a harem anime +1
it's unnecessary isekai -1
the colors on the characters is surprisingly striking in a good way. good use of bright colors +1
there's no "we have to kill the demon lord" recycled plot +1
there's no plot whatsoever. just a protag that collects more and more friends -1

This is exactly the kind of show I'll watch once and never remember or think about for the rest of my life. As I'm writing this, I've got season 2 on for background ... noise. Maybe the "cute girls doing cute things" isn't for me, but I don't see how this is any different from every other fantasy setting group of girls with a witch, and elf, and every other trope under the sun. It's not awful, but it hand-in-glove into the "meh" rating

Relaxing But Nothing Else

I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level Is an anime that asks a question, can you handle no meaningful conflicts and everything being chill. well I cannot.

From the first moments you know what the anime is about, chilling and not overworking yourself, and getting more family members, that is that the show. doesn't really have conflicts, there is stuff that happens, but there's no real tension to anything because the anime don't want that.

The family dynamic soon gets stale, because the character don't really change they just are what they are, maybe the main character and the ... red dragon do a bit.

Character design is not worth talking about, backgrounds are not worth talking about, animation is not worth talking about. the only thing that is worth mentioning is the amazing witch hat that changes size all the time. it is truly magic.

It is chill that I will give it, But I like my chill anime to feel like they have work on it, like Yuru Camp and Momo.

It's a cute distraction but nothing else.
