Fate/Grand Order: Shuukyoku Tokuiten - Kani Jikan Shinden Solomon

From Bad CG to characters pulled from the franchise that wasn't explained, This movie was riddled with flaws.

But here's the thing, none of those matter when watching the movie.

The ending literally pulled me out of a deep episode of derealization, slapped me in the face, asked me if it was worth living, slapped me again, and said "Stupid question, go figure it out yourself, now CRY." This has not happened since I watched "A place further than the Universe". And any movie that can make me do what an entire season of anime did deserves a 10/10 and go watch it.

The last of the big 7 Singularities. Solomon's Temple of Time. And yet again,i'm left stumbled,at how much a story this good and this worth getting into was rushed and ultimately fumbled.

While this one fares just that slightly better as a standalone movie,it still suffers from major drawbacks. And the only reason is because the other singularities had something to be discovered.Connections to establish. This final Singularity is supposed to be an end to the journey. Calling upon all the connections you made throughout all the 6 previous adventures.All the friends ,all the companionship. Of course,that's what happens in the games.And that's why if i ... was reviewing them this would be a hard 10 and a 100% recommendation. But this is a honestly infuriatingly disappointing adaptation.

To get the obvious again,it's still not animated by ufotable. I fail to comprehend why they keep outsourcing their own god damn material when the only good Singularity was the one they adapted.A 1 hour movie is just too short for the whole story to be fleshed out.It was the same with Camelot it's the same here. I got tricked at first since they started out pretty strong. I will give credit where credit is due.While the animation is not what you'd expect from the fate franchise,the sound design and the art direction are pretty good.

But that's where my praise ends ... to my own frustration. While i could be more lenient with the first 6 singularities being adapted without the others,i absolutely cannot do the same for this one.The last singularity was special even in the game. Both as a story and in the game mechanics. The only reason it hit me emotionally is because i already knew beforehand about the entire journey.For someone that hasn't played the games this one will be especially confusing,unlike Camelot and Babylonia,who can still pass as their own shows.Hell,even the First Order can be more passable since it's a direct connection with Stay/Night.

I just hope they'll do this right and adapt all singularities.When and if that happens, i will delete this review and give it a far better grade. But not a ten.Unless they remake this. Because even as a standalone adaptation this one's not good. The last singularity had story,but it was far more focused on the fighting.Back to back Demon God Pillars.More action was needed. And the other singularities were also necessary for that final reveal to have the weight it should.Since it's a buildup. It feels far more empty then it should as it stand.

So yeah,another rushed hackjob.I only recommended Camelot to people who didn't play the game.This time around i can only recommend it to people who did.To relieve those touching and glorious moments. Otherwise,you'll just be confused.

This should be your final stop in the Fate/Grand Order (part1) of the story that is so far animated as of 2025. The hardest part is how to watch Fate in general, but if you stumbled upon my review, this is how I would go about things:

Fate/Grand Order is a mobile game divided into 2 big story arcs, The 2nd which has not been produced yet and no plans as such. The 1st arc has 8 singularities (chapters), of which ... 1-5 were not adapted into anime for no apparent reason.

However minus some small parts of the Babylonia show and the 2nd Camelot movie, most of FGO is plagued with the same problems over and over.
- not the best animation, often with some pretty bad CGI (most apparent in 1st order and Babylonia)
- so so much fan service, to a distracting level
- terribly written story, that is over convoluted yet extremely simple in its premise. Solomon turned this up a notch which was impressive
- extremely bland or boring characters
- extremely poor pacing
- best part is the 10 sec cameos of your favorite servant showing up... which uh, forsure is not enough

for myself To spend the about 13 hours of watch time for an overall averaged out rating of almost exactly a 5/10 exsperiance was very much a waste of time. I have been a Fate fan unfortunately since about 2006 when the original show was localized to the states, it was fine. But when Zero came out I think ive been chasing that dragon since.

Welp im glad ive satiated my interest with FGO as a sub franchise and glad ive never touched that money trap of a game.
