This was genuinely amazing. I can't believe that such a touching film could be tucked away in such a hidden avenue of Japan. I highly recommend anyone capable of seeing this in person take the chance. "Supposedly" this can only be viewed at a Museum once every six months but I'll give you a hint - you can find it online if you search enough!

It says I need more information so I will add that the love between a lowly diving spider and a water strider is so beautiful it's hard to beat. I felt this movie was more touching than romance movies 10x as ...

This short was SO amazing. I was really moved by it. I loved the romance and the dance of the spider and the water spider. It was so beautiful. Truly one of the best animated films I've ever seen. Amazing animation, amazing story, just beautiful.

The story was incredibly unique because it was 2 bugs, and yet they made you love those 2 bugs like most romance anime never do. And in 15 minutes!

The characterization of the 2 bugs was great the MC obviously got more than the love interest but they still did some great work on her.

What a crazy idea for an anime short ...

I saw this several years ago when I visited the Ghibli Museum and, as another reviewer said, it really is a shame that it isn't available to more people because it's so beautiful. The music was lovely and, since it's Ghibli, the animation was gorgeous as well. Such a sweet story but also bittersweet. I would go back to the museum solely for the purpose of seeing this again (I loved it so much)! If you're lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit the museum I hope you're able to see it.
