A slice of life I didn't know I needed, but it's so good that it came back to me.

I only remembered watching the first season of the anime, but I couldn't remember the characters, the plot, or anything. As soon as I started the first episode of this new season, all the memories came flooding back, allowing me to enjoy this season without even revisiting anything from the first. The fact that the story remains a pure slice of life without a defined plot is what makes it so accessible and digestible despite the years between seasons. It's one of those anime you watch when ... you're tired of the rest of the anime you're watching. It's extremely relaxed, has good stories, the characters are charismatic, and it's not demanding in terms of its story.

The fact that the anime keeps adding characters to its roster doesn't feel overwhelming, since the characters who accompany the protagonist to tell a story or segment are always changing. So, by having a wider selection of characters, your stories expand enormously, making them never repeat themselves. Even so, they allow themselves to repeat premises, but with different characters, and it doesn't feel repetitive; on the contrary, it feels very fresh. Even the second season ends with the same concept that ended the first. If they repeat it again in a hypothetical third season, it would become a great season finale tradition for me. This concept is a Maid's Cafe and serves to review all the characters we met during the season, how they interact with each other, and close the season with a grand festival that practically celebrates friendship.

I don't know if we'll get a third season, but if they make me wait 5, 6, or 7 years again, I'll gladly wait.

Mixed Feelings

Slime 300, the 2nd Rebirth - A cute little 'slice-of-life series this has become...to insolently bring me to tears of boredom...

I loved (to the point of liking) novelist Kisetsu Morita's Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita a.k.a I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level, when it debuted in Spring 2021 as a stress reliever of a show. But bear in mind that this too, was back in the stressful days when COVID was nothing but a nightmare to stay at home and watch anime endlessly on a loop, because there was just really nothing else to ... do outside of the walls of your own room, let alone your house that became a literal "prison." Hell, I still stand by my good standings of an absurdly long review of Season 1 back during the day that Slime 300 was a show that came out of nowhere at a time when we needed it the most.

Fast forward 4 years to this Spring season when Season 2 makes a return...and yeah, I'm just not feeling it, sad to say.

Let's get the good things out of the way first: I'm awfully glad that the Witch of the Highlands is back with her gigantic family of creatures, so much so that she's carrying the weight of her newfound family altogether. And now, as a pseudo-mother figure to take care of everyone, Azusa has a lot of things to do to take care of this ever-rowdy family that, despite being so different from one another, the family of "sisters" are able to bond together, closer than ever before, alongside new characters marketed for the sequel here. And as you can imagine, for the author himself to market such a tame series and write 1001 stories about it, the LN has now reached 28 volumes and ongoing, and I have to admit that Slime 300 is very reader-friendly and approachable with no story plot in sight after what has been done with Azusa and the Goddess of Mega-mega that saw her through that adventure that seemingly can last for quite a lifetime if Kisetsu Morita chooses to do so.

Alas, without an overarching story in sight and with such a simple plot, Season 2 may have worked a little TOO safe against the backdrop of how Season 1 worked things out with Azusa gaining the family that has now become the central stage of her newfound Isekai life. The obvious point of a sequel is to expand upon the story and characters, but with how Slime 300 is so easily construed, much to the point of like having kids read their everyday bedtime stories until they fall asleep, I inevitably find myself in that exact situation of a kid just semiconsciously falling asleep, none the wiser. Like someone's comments: "The level of Slime 300 MAX-ed out in Season 1; it's not horrible, but 'meh.'"

I don't want to be too negative about the series, but the staff team involved in this isn't raising any hopes. For much of Kunihisa Sugishima's veteran work as director, with his strikeout series being the modern iterations of the Beyblade franchise from 2009 to 2016, going from that to Slime 300 is quite the breeze because it's a series that's marketed to the young'uns, so the effort comes off as just very kiddy-like with not much work put into it. Also, the complete overhaul of the staff team, heck, even the studio itself being very new, unknown, and unproven, the Teddy name sure invokes much of the series' characterization in tow. At least it kept the spirit of Season 1 alive, though in a rather diminished form.

I'd also reckon that while Yui Ogura and Aguri Oonishi did their best as follow-ups to both Aoi Yuuki's and Azumi Waki's OP and ED, respectively, I'll still come off to tell you that Season 1 wins by a mile; that again isn't bad, but isn't memorable, either.

I'm of sound mind that Slime 300 should've stopped at just Season 1 alone; the sequel here (mind you) is considerably watchable, but it's more of a snoozefest than anything.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it if they are coming after watching season 1

First season was kinda good but they made this season totally dogshit on diareaha,story is nowhere to be found every episode has it own story that's end by the Episode,nothing is going on anywhere, feels like 12 episode of filler list,


New characters keep coming without any kind of personality or anything,no background story or anything
new character appears per episode and goes out by the end,totally not recommended just watch season 1 that's it,

i had to drag myself out of falling asleep on this one😫, character literally became ... 1 directional,i just had to write a review to not recommend this to anyone.
