Unnamed Memory

As a young boy, Prince Oscar Lyeth Increatos Loz Farsas was cursed by the Witch of Silence, rendering it all but impossible for any woman to bear him a child. After 15 years of fruitlessly seeking a way to lift the spell, Oscar resorts to enlisting the help of a different witch. To this end, he heads to the Azure Tower, home of the Witch of the Azure Moon. Ascending the tower is no easy task; for decades, no one has overcome the array of traps, puzzles, and enemies designed to repulse any challengers. Oscar, however, easily climbs to the top, where he meets the fabled witch, Tinasha. To the prince's surprise, despite being hundreds of years old, Tinasha looks like a beautiful young woman in her late teens.

Oscar explains his circumstances to the witch, who quickly perceives the true nature of his affliction. Though she claims that undoing the spell would be tremendously difficult, Tinasha proposes a workaround—to find Oscar a partner capable of withstanding the curse's effects.

Realizing that such a woman is right in front of his eyes, Oscar boldly tells the witch to marry him. Though he is promptly rejected, the young prince refuses to back down, and the two eventually reach an agreement: Tinasha will leave the tower and live with Oscar for the next year. As the two continue searching for a way to lift Oscar's curse, word of Tinasha's emergence from isolation spreads, catching the attention of all sorts of old acquaintances.

Unnamed Memory is a hauntingly beautiful mix of fantasy, romance, and emotional weight. While the anime stumbles with rushed pacing and missed depth, the heart of the story—Oscar and Tinasha’s tragic connection—still shines. Their dynamic is slow-burn perfection wrapped in centuries of pain, magic, and fate. I wish the adaptation explored more arcs and gave their bond room to breathe, ... but what we got still hit my soul. The world feels lived-in, the soundtrack is ethereal, and the lore? Wild. It's a story about love, sacrifice, and identity—just wish it had more time to bloom.

Mixed Feelings

Let’s start with the basics.

Animation: 6/10 – It started off well, but the quality dropped a lot as the anime progressed.
Plot/Story: 6/10 – Wasted potential.
Romance: 7/10 – Could’ve easily been a 9 or even a 10 if they hadn’t squandered all the story’s promise.
Characters: 8/10 – This high score is purely because of Tinasha, who basically carries the whole anime on her back with her endless charisma.
Overall satisfaction: 6.5/10

Alright, now let’s dig a little deeper – and just like Jack the Ripper, let’s go by parts.

The anime's core plot was extremely promising from the start – and to be fair, the first season even followed ... through decently at first. But… as the episodes went on, everything started getting messy and taking some very questionable turns.

My main issue, aside from the rushed pacing and all the choppy, erratic cuts, is our protagonist: Oscar. Now, while I do appreciate that he doesn’t fall into that cliché archetype of the “kind, spineless virgin MC,” the guy has zero facial expressions. Seriously – he never gets angry, never cries, never smiles. Everything is delivered with that same bland, neutral look… and I’m not exaggerating. No matter what happens in his life – even when he achieves his biggest goals – that damn emotionless face stays glued on. It’s genuinely irritating, and honestly, one of the things that made it hard for me to get emotionally invested in the romance.

Another issue with the romance is how everything feels rushed and emotionless. All the "intimate" moments come off stiff, robotic, completely silent, and devoid of any emotional impact. It’s like watching a robot awkwardly approach a beautiful damsel.

Still, the story moves along in a way that keeps you somewhat engaged and hoping to see where things go. And yes, it does deliver a proper romantic conclusion – something many anime can't say for themselves.

With all that said, I’ll give it a reluctant 6.5.

P.S.: I can only imagine the rage from fans who watched this first season as it aired, only to be left with that completely open-ended finale – and then had to wait an entire year for a follow-up...



Vamos começar com o basico

Animação: 6/10 começou bem, porem decaiu muito ao longo do anime.
Enredo/historia: 6/10 potencial desperdiçado.
Romance: 7/10 que poderia ser tranquilamente um 9 ou 10 se não tivessem desperdiçado todo o potencial da obra.
Personagens: 8/10 a nota alta é meramente pela Tinasha que carrega o anime nas costa, visto seu carisma infinito.
Satisfação geral: 6,5/10

Bom, vamos nos aprofundar um pouco mais, assim como jack estripador, vamos por partes.

Bom todo o plot do anime era extremamente promissor, em sua primeira temporada, e diga-se de passagem até seguiu um pouco bem, porem... ao decorrer dos eps tudo começa a ficar extremamente confuso e tomar rumos duvidosos.

O principal problema para mim além da historia extremamente ruchada e repleta de cortes erráticos. É o nosso protagonista Oscar... que embora seja um alivio ele não recorrer ao arquétipo clichê de protagonista bonzinho, bananão e virgem. No entanto, ele não tem literalmente nenhum expressão... serio, o cara não fica bravo, não chora, não fica feliz, tudo nele é representado pela mesma expressão neutra e irritante... quando eu digo isso, não estou exagerando, é literalmente toda e qualquer situação na vida dele assim... ele alcança o que ele mais queria e ainda assim... continua com essa maldita expressão neutra no rosto... isso irrita muito e na minha opinião foi um dos empecilhos ao me apegar a historia de romance entre ambos.

Outro dos problemas do romance é que tudo parece acontecer muito repentinamente e sem emoção alguma... todos as situações de aprofundamento romântico são duras, robóticas, sem trilha sonora e totalmente ausentes de emoções, mas parece um robô atacando uma jovem e bela donzela.

Ainda assim a historia se desenrola e segue um fluxo em que você ainda fica preso e nutre esperanças de onde isso tudo vai levar, além claro de termos um desfecho romântico bem desenvolvido e fechado, coisa que poucos animes podem se orgulhar.

Dito isto um relutante 6.5.

OBS: fico imaginando o odio do publico que acompanhou essa primeira temporada com esse final totalmente aberto, tendo que esperar um anos pra uma continuação...

TLDR: Oh God, is this bad.

Before I start, I am bias. I don't like shoujo anime and that should have been in the description. Not knowing this, I went in blind, only to reminded why shoujo is so aptly names. The contrived plot line that appeals to the female sensibilities ruin what fantasy and action elements it has while booting you out of my suspended belief. The character interactions were cringe to boring. Nothing got me emotionally invested in the slightest. Magic was used as an ass pull to progress a plot held together by cobweb. The mediocre animation and par voice acting were the ... only things that kept my OCD feed to complete a series.
