Kono Sekai wa Fukanzen Sugiru

[JP, subtitles have honorifics but sometimes get very liberal with wording and reverse the order of lines for no reason, some very clear english has the tense changed in text]

The animation comes off as stiff maybe. It gets the point across, it's not particularly unpleasant to look at but I lean towards dislike more than like.
Designs leave room for improvement, or from the perspective of the web manga maybe they don't? If they are source-accurate designs that look bad do they need improvement? For myself I prefer designs that look good irrespective to accuracy if they do not conflict.

I am satisfied with the plot, how ... information is presented, and how things move along. The show does not feel like an exposition dump nor does it feel to be blundering directionlessly, at least not meaninglessly. Our protagonist is- well, I won't spoil anything. He's simple but not one dimensional.

This anime has a steady pace, a flow that does't change speed. This cour comes to an non-ending end. It's not rushed. It's not condensed. It's not a cliffhanger. Someone just turned the faucet off because you're only getting 1 glass.
That might feel bad now but if they make a 2nd cour and this steady flow stays that way you may find yourself with 2 satisfying glasses in the future.


I enjoyed this anime. However I would not want this to be the future of anime nor a benchmark.
After watching this again I've increased the rating but still hold there is something strange about the animation and I think it is in the shading and colors or it is the complexity of lines changing during character movement.

This show has one of the most unique and intriguing plots I’ve seen in a while. A group of people are hired to "debug" a soon-to-be-released video game, but end up getting trapped inside it for a full year. During that time, we watch many of the players begin to stray from playing the game as intended—choosing instead to engage in unethical behavior toward the NPCs (non-player characters) and disrupt the storyline itself.

The show had a solid foundation and a lot of potential. The first few episodes were emotional and pulled me in right away. However, the biggest issue for me lies in the protagonist, ... Haga.

Haga is the most boring lead I’ve seen in a long time. He’s too perfect—refusing to use “debug mode,” even in emergencies, yet always managing to find a way out of every situation. Watching a goody-two-shoes as the main character just isn’t entertaining and ends up dragging down what is otherwise a great concept.

The most compelling characters are the flawed ones—the ones who make mistakes and grow. Watching their journey makes it all the more satisfying when they finally start making the right choices, because they’ve earned it.

Overall, this show was a big disappointment. It had so much promise, but fell short where it mattered most.

I simply can't recommend this anime because it has no end and no development of its main plot at all!

In the first episode, it's explained that the debuggers are trapped inside the game. By the last episode, they are still trapped and they haven't stumbled upon ANY information about this problem.

The whole anime is about the MC meeting other debuggers, and their interactions are all messed up because it seems that every human being trapped inside the game has a wicked personality. They just brushed aside the fact that they are trapped and the plot turns into "let's hunt other debuggers and destroy their debugger ... stone so they stop messing up with the game".

The only good point about this anime is how they explore the game mechanics and bugs in order to win their battles against the evil debuggers. BUT often times we feel disappointed because the bugs can be very broken, and when we are in the middle of a great fight and the MC uses some dumb bug to end the fight, it's simply anti-climatic. We are left thinking "what, just like that? that was it?".

When (and IF) this anime has a second season, I will make sure to watch and delete/update this review. But for now, I really can't recommend an anime that has only a start, but no middle (no real development) and no end (literally, it doesn't end, last episode feels like we are barely into the first half of the anime).
