Suishou no Yoru: Aoi Kokuhaku yori

I guess there were enough Miho Yabe fans that Aoi Kokuhaku sold well enough for a sequel and Studio OX could keep their lights on another day. And this sequel is so obscure not even ANN has catalogued it!

This sequel to the Aoi Kokuhaku porn anime has even more disturbing sex scenes and even less plot! Rather than include psychological breakdown scenes, they include hardcore sex scenes directed in an artsy way! Studio OX thought they had a golden goose with their low-budget, poorly drawn rule 34 of the 90s Japan equivalent to an e-girl, but they went bankrupt shortly after this porn's release. The ... final anime project Studio OX was credited on, Kikaider vs Inazuman, was released a week after this porn! Studio OX itself was bankrupt by the end of 2003, less than three months after this porn was released.

Since there's so little to say about this aside from "it's gross porn", I might as well mention that this OVA, as with its prequel, plays around with weird shades and filters. There's a scene of a couple in a diner that would be a nice, albeit cheaply made, album cover. This is to be expected since these porn OVAs were made by a professional anime director, Shinji Ishahara, who's gone on to direct several seasonal anime as well as Tenbatsu Angel Rabbie, an OVA I have a soft spot for.

Aoi Kokuhaku is, for better or for worse, Studio OX's swan song. It was a niche design studio's last attempt to stay alive, and it ultimately failed.
