Kakuyomu is Japan's novel publishing website developed by KADOKAWA where anyone can publish and read novels free of charge. These animes are anime of Kakuyomu origin.

Some stories aren’t about the destination, but the journey, the experiences we gather and the people we meet along the way, from vast meadows where the wind dances through the grass, to forgotten temples crumbling with time, frozen mountains that steal your breath, shadowy forests where the sunlight barely reaches, deep caves draped in moss, and lively, chaotic cities where every alley has a story to tell.

A collection of anime where the protagonist travels and explores the beautiful, yet chaotic and dangerous world they live in.

Upcoming/unreleased anime with potential to be absolute bangers and even game changing for the medium.

Basic Criteria:

- Remakes are eligible
- Spinoffs are eligible if they are loosely related enough to the original.

This will be an endlessly ever growing and changing list being updated regularly, adding in new promising releases once announced and removing ones that have already started or finished airing.

An effort to pinpoint where the majority of the industry's most exceptional talent is concentrated.

Highest rated new series/movies of the decade so far, excluding anything that's a sequel to something from a previous decade or Chinese (or Korean I guess, but aeni is pretty uncommon). Might include a few spinoffs or remakes from larger franchises but the point is that everything here can be watched on its own.

This stack is for people looking for recent, non-isekai, fantasy anime recommendations.

Over the past several years the fantasy genre has been overrun with isekai stories, with roughly 36% of all fantasy TV anime from 2023 and 2024 being tagged as either isekai or reincarnation. While there are plenty of isekai anime worth watching (see my "Actually Good Isekai" stack), sometimes it's nice to take a break from the series of tropes that make up the isekai subgenre.

You might be wondering, what's the criteria for these stacks/lists?

Well, the MC shouldn't be too annoying or an ultimate cuck who overacts around women (I know, kinda hard to find these men in anime). Fun combat, interesting world and an OP MC, sounds fun.

That said, genres might vary, since not everything has to be about fighting. Being "overpowered" doesn't mean it's always about fighting. Some people are blessed with OP life by the luck of the draw (you know, beautiful/rich people).

A list of anime were criminals, anti-heroes, and Ne'er-do-well's who, at the biting of a higher authority, are forced to do a dangerous job... or die trying.
