Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi 2

After being summoned to another world, ordinary salaryman Tsuyoshi Mukouda has made a name for himself with his fabulous cooking. During his journey throughout different lands, he has even befriended the mythical wolf Fel and a slime named Sui. While enjoying a meal one day, the trio is interrupted by a tiny but rare pixie dragon who also wants a bite of their food. Like Fel and Sui, the dragon immediately falls in love with Mukouda's cooking and decides to become the man's familiar, receiving the name Dora-chan.

However, cooking is not Mukouda's only forte. His familiars' incredible strength constantly attracts the attention of guilds who ask for their help on different quests. In exchange, the guilds are able to process the game Mukouda and his familiars hunt, enabling their growing party to sample various kinds of monster meat. Continuing to travel around the world with his familiars, Mukouda always comes up with new mouth-watering recipes that will leave everyone hoping for a second serving.

I haven't (fully) watched any anime for at least a year, because I just wasn't interested in slop isekai anymore... or rather, I was able to satisfy my hunger for slop isekai very well with manga and manhwa, which also didn't make me feel guilty when I just skimmed a page.

Due to fond memories of the first season of “Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill,” I am now returning to anime and find myself in a spiral of nostalgia that reminds me why I once loved anime.
Similar to the first season, the second season is not a masterpiece in any sense; it's ... okay to good, but the relaxed mood, cute characters, and atmosphere manage to transport you back to barbecues and campfires, which you almost miss, especially now in winter.

Admittedly, however, I would like to see a little more from the story. Relaxed travel no longer seems to be the focus here; instead, the camping group goes into dungeons or completes dangerous missions with ease. This makes the series seem more and more like an “op-protagonist” anime instead of a slice-of-life series, and as such, in my opinion, it doesn't really work. An easy fix for this would be for the protagonist to get into danger or at least for something exciting to happen that fits with the direction the series seems to be moving in, or by putting more focus on the travels again.

Granted, these are minor criticisms, because as long as you don't pay explicit attention to them or are not pointed them out, the series still manages to belong to the slice-of-life genre. So my criticism is almost more of a concern about a future in which this is no longer the case, because the focus shifts too much to the big, adventurous things instead of staying with the small, relaxed scenes that made the series so good.

This is a great anime to watch while eating.

This anime doesn't take itself really seriously. It has a basic world building of an RPG, MC is OP as hell and basically run through everything that comes in his way. The side characters are all on his dick, not romance-wise but just glazing him all the time.

But the good thing is, that's really not the focus at all. The focus is FOOD. And the food looks GOOD.

What I love about this anime is how the MC just doesn't care about the world or anything related to the story of the manga he's in and just wants ... to cook. I love it.

Every episode, you have a new dish that is cooked by the MC using his skill that we can call "Amazon.co.uk" where he can get basic stuff ordered instantaneously to his new world (props to Amazon, better than the 1D delivery). Then he just cooks them using resources from the new world.

Basically, SIMPLE is BEST. That's really all you need. A chill anime to eat in front of, just living his life and cooking for his familiar, with food that looks so good and just a general vibe that is so chill.

The second season 2 is really disappointing; they haven't added anything to the story at all. This anime might as well be how to cook foreign food, but it doesn't do a very good job explaining ingredients or recipes. Wyvern dragon is chicken, orc is pork. You're better off watching Hell's Kitchen Nightmares. You can remove every side character in this anime, and it would still be the same quality, with him just cooking. Two episodes of the guy trying to build a barbecue all he needed to do was build a campfire. lazy writing,bad characters. Why even put it in a fantasy world. The ... MC has no economy because he has an overpowered dog that wins the Game and just buys everything. he's literary pay to win, but he is feeding 3 pets that eat like 20 times the normal human.

Delicious in Dungeon does this show 10 times better.
