Unnamed Memory Act.2

Well, here we are again to talk about this continuation, which is also a massive waste of potential.

Let’s start with the basics:

Animation: 7/10 – Improved… a lot? No. But yeah, it did improve.
Plot/Story: 4/10 – This is where the anime completely loses itself. An unprecedented mess of a narrative. Rushed, confusing, irritating, and dull.
Romance: 7/10 – Still the same as before: a well-established romance that’s ultimately wasted.
Soundtrack: 7/10 – Better than the first season.
Characters: 8.2/10 ;) Oscar has slightly improved his lack of expression.

... Alright, and now, once again like Jack, let’s go by parts.

There’s a modest jump in technical quality compared to the first season — animation is a bit better, and so is the soundtrack. But in return… the writing completely goes down the drain. Everything feels meaningless, incredibly rushed, and is resolved in the most abrupt and incoherent ways imaginable, completely inconsistent with the characters and their personalities. I’m not joking when I say nothing in this season’s plot makes sense…

The romance did improve a bit compared to season one, mostly because Tinasha got a noticeable personality boost. Without the emotional baggage, she’s more open, expressive, affectionate — basically, she actually feels like a girl in love now.
As for Oscar, he’s had a very modest (and I mean modest) improvement in his expressions. He’s still kind of an emotionless blob, but at least now he’s more sure of his feelings and manages to express them a little better.

The ending chosen for the anime diverges entirely from the original source material — which, honestly, I didn’t think was a bad thing. I’d even say I prefer this ending. It feels sweeter and more satisfying for the fans who had to endure both of these seasons…

With that said, I refuse to give it a 7 for these tiny improvements. So a reluctant 6.9 feels just right lol.

P.S.: It’s exhausting to like this series, but honestly, I’d still recommend watching it for yourself. You never know… opinions are super personal, and it can still work as light entertainment for your free time — especially if you’re into romance and have nothing else to watch.

Comecemos com o basico

Animação: 7/10 melhorou... muito? não, mas melhorou
Enredo/Historia: 4/10 aqui o anime se perde totalmente, é uma confusão narrativa sem precedentes. Ruxado, confuso, irritante e maçante.
Romance: 7/10 segue sendo aquilo que era, um romance bem estabelecido mas desperdiçado.
Trilha sonora: 7/10 melhorou em comparação a primeira
Personagens: 8.2/10 ;) Oscar melhorou um pouquinho sua falta de expressão.

Bom, agora novamente como jack, vamos em partes.

Temos um salto modesto em qualidade técnica em comparação a primeira, a animação esta um pouco melhor, a trilha sonora também melhorou um pouco. Mas em compensação... o roteiro foi por agua abaixo, tudo é sem sentido, muito corrido e se resolve de maneira abrupta e sem coerência alguma com os personagens e suas personalidades. Falo serio quando digo que nada faz sentido no enredo dessa temporada....

O romance melhorou um pouco em comparação a primeira temporada isso porque a Tinasha teve um salto considerável em sua personalidade, tendo em visto a falta de trauma ela é mais aberta, expressiva, amorosa e parece muito mais uma jovem apaixonada que o normal... Ja Oscar, teve uma modesta e quando eu digo é modesta mesmo, evolução em suas expressões, embora continue uma massa amorfa de sentimentos, ele dessa vez é mais convicto de seus sentimentos, e consegue expressa-los melhor.

O final escolhido para o anime diverge totalmente do material original, o que eu não achei algo negativo, digo até que prefiro esse final.. vejo ele como algo mais doce e agradável para satisfazer os fãs que sofreram assistindo essas 2 temporadas...

Dito isto, me recuso a dar 7 para essas melhoras singelas, então um relutante 6.9 é o ideal kkkkkk.

OBS: É cansativo gostar, mas sinceramente recomendo que vejam por si mesmos, nunca se sabe... opinião é algo muito pessoal, e vale como um entretenimento para horas vagas e pra quem gosta do genero romance e ta sem nada para ver.

Squandered potential.

This review is for both acts. I will also preface this review by saying that I have not read the source material and have only watched the anime.

I stumbled upon this show randomly. Just browsing what to watch and this seemed promising so I started watching it. And I immidietely got the impression that the source material bangs. I could see the framework of an extremely competent story. But what bothers me about the anime adaptation is that they seem to be speedrunning the story for some reason. This trend continued throughout the whole series and really upsets me because regardless of my low ... score and hesitance to outright recommend it, it's clear as the sky that the anime does not do justice to the source material. Even having never read it. The elements are just too competent. I plan on reading the novel at some point when I get the burst of motivation to do so and if it sucks I will be very surprised.

There are a lot of instances in the anime where sub plots start from seemingly in the middle without proper set up. Conflicts start and end within one or two episodes. This makes it difficult to follow the red thread running through the whole story and what is and isn't important.

I'll say this much, if this anime gets a remake some years down the line, with proper pacing and without the story being rushed, with better or even the same quality of animation, I will be watching that religiously. That probably won't happen considering this show wasn't all that popular and remakes rarely happen, but I would say that this story deserves it. It deserves the time and care of a longer and slower version of the anime. At minimum the story should have been spread over twice the run time. There was no need to rush things like this and I would love to hear the studio's justification for this speedrun-esque pacing.

Im really sorry, cause I genuinely enjoyed the first season.

Unfortunately, this season is basically just a rehash of the original storyline, without providing anything of meaningful substance to me. The character growth ultimately feels the same, even though there is a lingering "will they remember?"

I think there is a way to do a timeline reset sort of story similar to this, although I think it is difficult without running into the same issues as this anime did.

Other than that, the show is about the same in quality as the first season, which is a compliment.
