NegaPosi Angler

NegaPosi Angler (2024) and Tsuritama (2012) tell surprisingly similar stories. Both follow socially withdrawn characters: Tsunehiro, who’s given up after a terminal diagnosis and financial ruin, and Yuki, whose anxiety makes him feel like he’s drowning. Each ends up living with eccentric people who pull them into odd friendships, with fishing as the quiet thread that brings them back to life. One is grounded, the other surreal, but both explore what it means to start living when you least expect to — with humor, heart, and a little bit of water (and fish, of course). 

A blend of Iyashikei and Slice of Life with an emotional story, good characters, and a niche hobby. 

The stories are about our main character being depressed/overwhelmed by reality. In some point, they began to find some peace in doing a certain hobby and learning from it with new friends. Koguma (Super Cub) rides a SuperCub, Tsunehiro (Negaposi Angler) starts fishing.  

While nothing alike in terms of background plot, both anime are soothing stories about outdoor activities, albeit one more emotionally heavy than the other. I mean, camping and fishing are very similar... right? Uh, they also have a lot of folk soundtrack and comedy, so, yeah, if you like one of these you're definitely gonna like the other.
