Kikaijikake no Marie

Wealthy, handsome, and successful, Arthur Louis Zetes is no stranger to the greed of people. Constantly doubting those around him, he has no faith in humanity; thus, he makes a request for the perfect maid—a robot maid. However, his butler is unable to acquire such a servant due to technological limitations, so he finds the next best substitute.

Marie Evans is a former child prodigy in martial arts known for her lack of expression. Drowning in debt, she readily accepts the offer to be a maid that acts like a robot. While Arthur is often blunt towards humans, he cannot help but dote on his personal robot; in turn, Marie is moved by his drive and consideration toward her.

To be honest, it's a masterpiece of a kuudere/rom-com anime.
There are tons of shows that aren't even engaging but still have higher ratings, yet this one... man.
It's not just romance, it's a proper rom-com and it's genuinely funny. I loved watching it; it's so engaging, especially episode 9.
As a hardcore rom-com fan, I was literally jumping around and grinning so hard lol 🤣
IMDB 6 and MAL 6.5 are unfair, it's definitely better than what they rate.
A solid watch for this season, poor Noah 😂
Really hope more people give it a chance because it deserves way more love overall honestly.

Mixed Feelings

Preliminary (7/12 eps)

Well, yes, let me take up the mantle and write review for this one.

TLDR - it's a plain yoghurt of comedy romance.

It is... ok. Pretty good. Not bad. Slightly above average.
Light comedy that reminds me of Hayate no Gotoku for some reason, and Ninkoro a bit, but it's just missing that extra spice that would make it memorable.
Decently animated. Okay soundtrack. Usual romance stuff. Some funny moments. Shallow characters though.
The only thing that stands out to me is that the artstyle is sometimes really nice and sometimes really cheap.

I have nothing really bad to say about it, but there is just nothing great either, it's ... just fine..
Hard to imagine anyone having strong feelings either way about it.

Okay, so where do I even start? I’ve read the entire Mechanical Marie manga, and I loved it.
I know it’s a silly rom-com, but sometimes I just like to turn off my brain and enjoy these kinds of series.

So when I saw that the manga was getting an anime adaptation, I was really happy—until I actually watched it. I couldn’t even get past the first 10 minutes without noticing that something felt wrong in some of the scenes. And then it hit me: they used generative AI images. I’m sorry, but that’s just outrageous.

It completely ruined my experience. I’m not going to continue watching something ... that, in my opinion, damages the reputation of the original manga because someone was too lazy to properly sketch and color the scenes. Honestly, I would have preferred even a black-and-white manga panel over AI-generated imagery.

This is just my personal opinion, but it definitely hurt me as a fan.
