Like analysing a characters pshyche while watching anime? Then here's some shows you might be interested in
Though not all belong to the psychological genre, they all focus to some degree on the psychology of the characters

Most of the anime on this list are also pretty dark and deal with themes that can be tough to watch
So i wouldn't recommend this stack to the faint of heart

list will expand

Avoided a bit of the really obvious ones (The Big 3 and Death Note) and some that were really similar to something already present on this list. These are anime I recommend you not miss out on in your lifetime.

Anime about poor people, including both comedy and satire, as well as drama or melodrama. Shows where this topic is one of the subplots are also included. The plot of such shows usually either sympathetically depicts the problems that a poor person may face, or show the peculiarities of the thinking of such people, or how they try to deceive others by pretending to be rich.

P.S. Thanks eblf2013 for helping making this stack.

"Atmosphere is defined as the pervading mood of a person, place, or work of art. The mastery of atmosphere in movies controls how a person feels while watching a movie, whether it be a creeping dread pulling down on the viewer or an exhilarating energy that makes the viewer feel like they can fly."

so, THAT.

it's basically the "vibe" of the piece for you younglings (says the 18 year old). so the stuff here are things that make you FEEL the setting.

what results in it, is generally a mix of "music, aesthetic, direction, and sound design".

I was 50/50 on putting vanitas here, just cause I think the chibi comic relief can take you out, but I thought why not, there is space. I'll removed it when I need to start being more picky.

also, subscribe to APolygons2 on YouTube, IT WILL , 100%, result in BREATHING! which is one of THE main causes of being alive!

You ever hear a cover is not the book? Where here’s a list where the anime cover in MAL doesn’t tell us everything about the series and it’s horrifying contents.

Anime in the genre of horror or paranormal that are set in the Japanese province and rural region. Such shows often have a characteristic "Shinto" paranormal atmosphere and a rich collection of Japanese horror tropes, so I thought this stack would be quite interesting for people who like authentic Japanese horror or paranormal anime.

When creating a stack, the following criteria were used:

* Provincial or directly rural setting.
* Characteristic Japanese paranormal or horror elements.
* Melancholy, philosophical and thoughtful storytelling style
* "Esoteric" music.
* As a more urbanized alternative, Japanese macabre humor and play on urban legends.
* Strong use of Shinto elements and mentality
* Vibrant visual style of anime in general.

Don't have time? These are the anime for you! Anime with less than 6 episodes. Their stories are complete (you won't feel like it ended with a cliffhanger) and really enjoyable. For people who love anime but don't have too much time to watch them.
*Ayakashi includes 3 short horror stories (separate from each other). I recommend the 3rd one (episodes 9-11).
*Aoi Bungaku includes 6 short stories (separate from each other). You can watch either one and you will enjoy it.
*The Grimm Variations includes 6 short stories (separate from each other). You can't really go wrong with classic Grimm fairy tales.
*Anime classified as movies are less than 50 minutes long.
*All Itou Junji anime include smaller short horror stories (separate from each other). Most are of decent quality for a casual watch. (Also, give the World of Horror game a try, you'll be surprised)
*Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26: Each episode is a one-shot
*Milky Subway has just 3 minutes per episode.

I tried to rank the best anime for each of their respective genre. These genres are Loosely based on the Wikipedia "List of genres" and then adapted for anime.

I always consider the whole franchise and only include shows/movies I have watched.
I'm sure some genres have better shows that fit, but I haven't watched everything.

Only 1 win per franchise.

Treat these as recommendations if anything. :D

Upcoming/unreleased anime with potential to be absolute bangers and even game changing for the medium.

Basic Criteria:
- not a sequel
- Remakes are eligible
- Spinoffs are eligible if they are loosely related enough to the original.

This will be an endlessly ever growing and changing list being updated regularly, adding in new promising releases once announced and removing ones that have already started or finished airing.

my anime recommendations, no order. only the first season of an anime is added, as i'm recommending the entire franchise, doesn't mean whatever season inserted here is my favorite.

some sequels don't follow up as strongly (later seasons of food war imo), some prequels aren't as good as the sequels (attack on titan for reference imo, s3 onwards is peak. everything before, fun, but nowhere as peak). though, nonetheless, its still great enough to recommend the whole franchise either way
