I honestly found the Gregory Horror Show very scary. Maybe Pupa is something like it.

Funny Pets 2nd Season addpermalink

Weird-looking early CGI that doesn't look much like an anime but more close to a kids show, while the content is not intended for children - it is a weirdness with in places confusing script and unique charm.

Short episodes about bunch of weird "supernatural" characters. Very similar aesthetic of blocky design combined with early 3D CGI usage. Not surprising, given the same animation studio.
