Anime in the genre of horror or paranormal that are set in the Japanese province and rural region. Such shows often have a characteristic "Shinto" paranormal atmosphere and a rich collection of Japanese horror tropes, so I thought this stack would be quite interesting for people who like authentic Japanese horror or paranormal anime.

When creating a stack, the following criteria were used:

* Provincial or directly rural setting.
* Characteristic Japanese paranormal or horror elements.
* Melancholy, philosophical and thoughtful storytelling style
* "Esoteric" music.
* As a more urbanized alternative, Japanese macabre humor and play on urban legends.
* Strong use of Shinto elements and mentality
* Vibrant visual style of anime in general.

The night is silent and darkness predominates in every corner of the countryside or the city, so keep quiet and watch these shows carefully.

Some good or not so good anime for the spooky month

This stack is dedicated to a show whose protagonists are conspicuously or even excessively naive, innocent and simple-minded people. Whether it deconstructs, satirizes or idealizes this show. Therefore, some included anime may include morally controversial characters who are still not fully aware of it due to their innocent personality.

Horror and Mystery anime focused in Town settings.

This stack is for anime about characters who investigate crimes or mysteries as a hobby, without being in any way connected with the police, professional detective agencies or intelligence agencies. In general, about talented, often even brilliant, but still amateur detectives (from the point of view of professional activity, not abilities).

Anime that you could watch if you like Japanese horror games or creepypastas.

This stack is intended for various romantic and not very shows, whose central couple, ship or opposite gender pair contains gender dynamics, that is opposite to the usually expected. The declared dynamics still does not mean that Female Lead is a female Hunk or that Male Lead is absolutely weak and amorphous. Here we are talking primarily about how the dynamics contrasts the characters themselves.

A chronological list of full-length bishoujoge anime adaptations that aired in the 2010's and 2020's.

Inclusion criteria:
- must be an anime adaptation of a visual novel (defined by VNDB's criteria)
- must be a full-length series (>180 of runtime over at least 2 episodes or films)
- not a sequel (note that entries like White Album 2 aren't actually sequels, others like Chaos Child technically are but don't rely very heavily on the prequel so I have included them)
- must prominently feature bishoujo characters (so no otomege adaptions)
- no hentai
(not year aired entries are expected to meet the criteria and will be removed if turns out that they do not)
