Kiss x Sis (TV)

After Keita Suminoe's mother passed away, his father promptly remarried, introducing two step-sisters into Keita's life: twins Ako and Riko. But since their fateful first encounter, a surge of incestuous love for their younger brother overcame the girls, beginning a lifelong feud for his heart.

Now at the end of his middle school career, Keita studies fervently to be able to attend Ako and Riko's high school. While doing so however, he must resolve his conflicting feelings for his siblings and either reject or succumb to his sisters' intimate advances. Fortunately—or perhaps unfortunately for Keita—his sisters aren't the only women lusting after him, and there's no telling when the allure of temptation will get the better of the boy as well.

Ah, Kiss x Sis. Now, some less refined individuals—uncultured, uninitiated—may scoff, nay, guffaw, at the mere mention of its name. But to those of us who wear velvet smoking jackets and ponder the complexities of life through the wafting tendrils of Cuban tobacco smoke, Kiss x Sis is not simply an anime. It is an experience. A nuanced ballet of emotion, familial dynamics, and… ahem… passionate devotion.

We do not merely watch this work. No, no. We partake. With glass in hand and one pinky delicately raised, we delve into the poetic intricacies of a young man torn between twin affections—nay, affections most tender—of his two ... step-sisters, whose ardor knows no bounds nor societal constraint.

The mise-en-scène, my dear Jack Dawson, is nothing short of remarkable. Notice, if you will, the lighting choices—subtle glimmers reflecting the golden hour of adolescent temptation. The animation? Each frame lovingly caressed into existence, like a Botticelli fresco viewed through rose-tinted lenses of playful taboo.

The storyline, though underestimated by the unrefined, is nothing less than Shakespearean in its tension and complexity. The protagonist, Keita Suminoe, embodies the tragic hero—noble, conflicted, and perpetually in peril of an affectionate ambush from either sisterly flank. This is no simple tale of carnal curiosity. No, it is a deeply philosophical inquiry into the boundaries of love, the structure of family, and the absolute limits of what can legally be shown on broadcast television without a priest on standby.

The soundtrack, might I add, is a subtle serenade—an auditory delicacy that dances upon the ear like a Chopin nocturne interrupted by the soft rustling of undergarments being misplaced.

And the themes, my word… Themes!
A rich tapestry of adolescent longing, societal norms, and the primal struggle between duty and desire. Why, if Kant had written fanservice, he might have titled it Critique of Pure Waifu.

Yes, dear reader, there will be those who call this “trash,” “degeneracy,” or even “unholy.” But we—connoisseurs of refined Japanese animation—know better. We are not watching smut. We are appreciating art. And art, as you know, is meant to make one feel something.

In conclusion, Kiss x Sis is a baroque opera in the form of 24 animated minutes, a study in restraint and excess, and a tribute to the human condition—particularly the horny bits.

I now bid you adieu, for the evening draws late, and I must retire to my chambers where I shall, in solitude and with utmost respect, continue my scholarly rewatch of episode six.

Mixed Feelings

Want the best ecchi out of the whole show? Go to episode 7 and watch the teacher. Her half episode is better than everything else in the series.

This really wasn't as bad as what it could be. Serious ecchi without nudity. There is a lot of lewdness depicted throughout the show, which I think comes as a surprise to nobody. Just be prepared that it is as suggestive as it can be, down to the point of absolutely literal actions and results.


There really is love and care displayed between all of them, especially by the sisters. So many people would label this as incest ... and they are wrong, simply by definition. There has to be a blood relation for it to qualify as such. They are step-siblings, which means that particular label doesn't fit. People get caught up in labels and titles and that's where the confusion comes into play. However you want to look at it is up to you, but I can't throw that label on it based on definition.

The twins are cute, they really are. It's hard to believe that they're supposed to be the older characters, but I suppose that's just a mind thing for me. They all seem to be the same age, which is true because they're only a year apart, but it just comes across differently and that he is older.

If you like a lot of lewdness, this is definitely your show. I have not seen the OVA, but I will.

Throwing a mixed feelings on this simply because it's just not some people's thing.

I'm only writing this review to warn the future generation that this anime should be locked up and left forgotten to time.

This entire anime was disgusting, perverse, filthy, insulting, unsightly, demeaning, malicious, degrading, displeasing and it has caused me a great pain having to actually finish it.

This is not an anime so bad that it's good, calling it bad would be a compliment, it suffers from every cliché in the anime industry, to think they actually showed this on some poor TV channel that didn't know better, makes me shudder just thinking about the generation this has poisoned.

Just when you think the story is ... going somewhere and it becomes serious the anime kicks you in the nuts for even thinking about the plot and quickly reminds you with graphic perversions that there is no such thing as a plot and it simply serves as a background to the endless panty shots and "accidental" sexual harassment.

To end this review, the only positive thing I can say about this anime is that it makes a very potent punishment for anyone who lost a bet.
