Appleseed

After watching just about all of the OVAs released in the 1980s, these are the ones I rated 6, meaning I consider them to be decent.

This is a part of a series of stacks that are about artistic tendencies in anime (and that border the fine line between sophisticated and pretentious).

Kick back with your choice of inebriant or lack thereof and have some fun watching action heroes battle it out with all sorts of weapons, explosives, superpowers and machines. OVAs aren't usually very long so you don't even need to commit. You don't need to think too much and don't take it so seriously. These shows are all about having a good time and maybe some laughs along the way.

Featuring little to no dialogue and/or characters and the experience is carried by the music and/or visual atmosphere.

One person's trash is another one's treasure.

Trashy, campy and/or just plain dumb anime that have a mix of "so bad it's good" and unironically entertaining elements. Not particularly good but not particularly bad either. The kind of anime that can be a lot of fun if you don't take them too seriously. Please enjoy this selection of not-so-guilty pleasures.
