It's been a while since I've said anything in the group.
(And this is probably discussed in the comments anyway)
But how has season 2 (Eternal Summer) progressed for you?
To me, I think it really improved in it's character aspect. The character distribution in season 1 felt really unbalanced at times, and sometimes the actual sporting aspect felt distant although there. Eternal Summer had a lovely character distribution whilst adding new characters and had a nice connection with the sport itself and remained humorous as ever. Of course that's a bit too early to say it at the moment, but can't help it but I'm really loving the characterisation in Season 2.
What about you guys?
Alone on a Friday night? Remember that DIO did nothing wrong!
Honestly, I have NOT watched the 2nd season yet, however I have seen glimpse of it on tumblr... and a lot of spoilers, yep, lots of it...
Things that I approve of the 2nd season:
1) The adorable otter! Minishiba is too adorable!! xD... **I'd like him to be w/ Gou more than Seijuurou**
2) The relationship between Nagisa and Rei (Ep 3) --
I literally did NOT want to watch the rest of the series if he had left the club.
3) More Gou!!! xD... **Yes, I'm a huge Gou fan... go figure... (a female who has a huge woman crush on Gou)**
4) More Nitori! Don't get me wrong... he's not my fave, fave, but I'm so glad to see more of him!! ^_^
Things I do NOT approve of for 2nd season:
1) The Jealous Sousuke... Yeah.. that's what I dub him as. Seriously though, since I haven't really watched it yet, I can't make any big complaints, but I already was worried the minute they introduced him as a character for the 2nd season.
2) Less Iwatobi, More Samezuka... Okay, first of all, this is not entirely my own opinion... I have seen so many people on tumblr who have been upset about how the series is already 4 episodes in and all they see is mostly Rin and Samezuka and not enough Iwatobi...
Since I have NOT seen the 2nd season yet, I can't really give my own opinion about it yet...but... so far.. I have seen quite a lot of samezuka through gifs, etc... (true)...but it's really hard to tell... The first season was mainly about Rin and Haru... the second season seems to be more about Rin, Sousuke, and Haru... in which Haru is kind of like a third-wheel but not the third wheel at the same time.
**Thus, this brings us ship fights again (especially on tumblr)... People upset about not enough MakoHaru and RinHaru... They are upset how Sousuke is practically
****blocking
the relationship between Rin and Haru... **
I don't really get it all that much yet, and since I've never read the High Speed series, it's really hard to decode things... In all aspects, they did give us our awesome fandom... Mer!Haru ending! xD...
I truly want to see more of Iwatobi really... and I want to see more of Nagisa and Rei. The first season was too caught up with Rin and Haru that the others didn't really get enough screentime...
This is all just what I think right now...might change after watching the series...
^ There's a lot of equal character distribution compared to season 1 so don't worry. It does seem to focus heavily on Samezuka but as far it actually equals out with Iwatobi.
There's also
A likely conflict amongst Haru and Sosu. Might turn physical
and judging by the OP
Nagisa might be going through some stuff, Haruka is gonna take a huge personality dive and Rei gives a sign of betrayal?? or something he was walking towards Rin

Agreed about the characterization this season, it's done much better.
We still need to see more about Mako, since all he really is is the nice guy so far... he needs more development.
I like Sosu, but his ideals are so much more different than Rin's, I'm happy Rin left his old school and went to Iwatobi
I feel like everyone but Haru and Mako have actually had character development going on. Rin's development has been great, but Haru.. Jeez, I feel like Haru is completely pointless in this season so far.
First of all, the Sousuke drama really touched me. I think anybody would cherish the time spent with friends who shared the same passion. Sousuke realized that that was his dream and was satisfied with it. Even the way he made reference to the famous quote from Season 1 ("Ano toki no keshiki...") aaaaah the feels from that TwT
I hope Haru eventually apologizes to Makoto for saying those hurtful words. I absolutely understand Haru wanting things to remain the way they are, but Mako-chan did not deserve that :(
So happy Rin came to the rescue! Thanks to him, I think Haru will discover what he wants to do for his future (hopefully they'll continue to swim together <3 )
Looking forward to their date in Australia~
so here are my thoughts after I finally watched the 2nd season:
01) I think they added mini mikoshiba because they really needed someone to fill in that spot... (but he's freakin' adorable as hell!)
02) I'm really glad that Nitori has more screentime, plus he was able to swim with Rin. I really love those two together. (you can't tell me otherwise)
03) Nagisa and Rei have really touched me this season... Nagisa moreso... T^T
04) I'm not so ill-willed towards Sousuke anymore... though at the beginning I really didn't like him...but after like Episode 9 I started to really come to him....
05) I'm glad that Haru found his dream... It really did seem like everyone was pressuring him about what he wanted to do, and about the scouts... I'd be frustrated too!
06) I'm glad that Haru and Makoto finally made up in the end... and I'm glad they both went to Tokyo. (OTP for LIFE)
07) I'm happy that Gou was in this season, but I felt like she didn't really have much of a role =(... guess this is what I get for having my favorite character be a supporting character... (she doesn't even have a birthday! >_<)
08) In the end, I am kind of glad how things ended... though, I would have loved to have seen them graduating... (and see Haru/Mako giving each other their 2nd buttons xD)...
09) To be honest, this season Rin was a bit of an annoyance... he kept pressuring Haru the most about the Scouts... but I'm glad he came around and turned things around... (though, he had way too much screen time... wished Gou had more screentime)...

xKiYoMiNaTiONx kinda said exactly what I was gonna say but her's is WAY more detailed than what mine was gonna be so yea. I did kinda bold the parts I SO agree with.
