| You've pretty much seen it a lot in "anime" and yes, even some western animation as well. From the fluid, crisp motion of the character movements to the expressive, abstract work shown in visuals. The people whose jobs as animators are known for this. This is known as "sakuga" or it's literal meaning "working drawing". Keep in mind that this is more of a(n) animator spotlight. So today, lets start with one of my favorites and inspirations, superstar animator Yoh Yoshinari! He's quite a fan favorite amongst aspiring animators and is known for his works as a former employer of GAINAX(but now currently works for studio Trigger) Check the video below to see some of the scenes he animated! |

| Definitely his strongest point is fluid motion in the things he animates. FLCL and Little Witch Academia are perfect examples of what he's capable of, at least from the things I've seen that he's done... which is admittedly not many... ^^; But still even outside of that I've seen clips from many of his works, and they always look impressive in that regard. |
| Thanks for sharing this video! The design of the explosions here is very impressive and detailed. + A + There are just so many things I like about this video! Such as the variety in the timing of the explosion/smoke effects and character movements (going slow, then suddenly gaining momentum). Especially when a character prepares to hit by slowly swinging his arm back, and then suddenly rushes forward. It gives the movement a lot of impact. (like...BAM!) I also really like his exaggerated poses and crazy foreshortening here. So so so much respect! His animations look very epic. |
