When someone becomes a professional (prima) the current prima has to pack her shit and leave. I just can't help thinking this is as silly as it comes.

It still gave that impression earlier in the series, and seemed to change the stance and make it coincidental in the last episodes. It explained it like when Alicia became prima then it was Grandmas time to leave, and the same would happen with when Akira became prima. But at the last episode there was a sudden wedding as a reason. Perhaps a retcon, but who knows.

The only reason Grandma left in the first place was because she was getting too old to continue to be a Prima, she oversaw two Undine after all.
