| For the first time since my original watch in 2019, around 6 years, I’m back rewatching One Punch Man, I wanted to before Season 3 began but it didn’t happen lol, so here I am now. It really is something seeing this after what Season 3 has been so far, I know Season 1 is an outlier and they basically had a dream team that the stars would have to align for, but it still is a jarring contrast, and I’m not even a massive hater of Season 3 lol. Now of course Season 2 had similar complaints, but I remember liking it overall despite the popular opinion at the time, although just like this season, I haven’t seen it since 2019 so I’ll hold off on commenting too much on it till I get there. All that aside, it feels good to be watching the first season again after all this time, I haven’t seen this stuff in so long that I completely forgot how Saitama’s origin story goes, as well as that dream sequence, although I correctly guessed it was a dream early on lol, maybe that was my vaulted memories telling me that, it looked phenomenal tho, it’s crazy they went that hard on a dream, and Saitama when he’s serious was awesome as well, it is interesting how it makes you feel for the guy despite his insane strength. And that OP and ED man, incredible nostalgia there, that ED by Hiroko Moriguchi is still my favorite to this day (although I do really like the EDs of Seasons 2 and 3 as well), as for JAM Project, I think all of their OPs for each season bang, just slightly different from each other, those visuals might be the best tho, I’d have to see Season 2’s again to know for sure. And to keep my writing workload down, I’m probably just gonna write for the first and last episode of this season, I’m really just here on a nostalgia trip so I don’t see a point in analyzing every episode lol, I’m just gonna enjoy the ride and sum up my thoughts at the end. |
