| Took me a little longer than I intended, but I finally made it to the end of my very long awaited rewatch of Season 1 of One Punch Man, this finale really is something else man. I remember being wowed so hard when I first watched this in 2019, the fight between Saitama and Boros is just next level awesome, yeah technically it wasn’t much of a “fight” by shounen standards but for this particular series where Saitama one-shots everything, seeing him actually get thrown around and have to do more than just throw one punch is enough to make it great, and that’s not even considering the spectacular production. It really is a shame One Punch Man will never look this good ever again, Season 1 was truly a stars aligning kinda thing, but I’m still very thankful it was made, it was such a joy to re-experience it after all these years, especially the big Mumen Rider scene, I can’t remember if it got me back in 2019 but on the rewatch I was actually tearing up, those emotions got me man lol, it really is such a standout moment in this silly yet badass series. And although we didn’t hear it in this episode, I’m really gonna miss that ED, although there was another song by the same artist, Hiroko Moriguchi, at the end of this finale which I really liked as well, her ED will forever be my favorite of the series even if the ones that came after are good too. And from here I guess I’ll give the specials a rewatch before Season 2, I don’t remember anything about them pretty much lol, and I also need to watch the “Road to Hero” anime original episode that I never watched, it’s not on my Bluray for some reason but I can find it elsewhere. |
