| Hey everyone, I just joined today and I really really love Orange Road. I was just curious to how you all got to know about this anime and why you all like it. Please add in any other comments. I won't want to limit you all to just these 2 questions. I'll start the ball rolling. My experience with KOR was quite interesting I reckon. I was about 8-9 years old, and I turned on the TV set at 1.00am one day and it was KOR. The first episode was just magical I thought, the counting of the steps, and this really mysterious girl called Madoka. Somehow I felt sucked into Kyousuke's personality, and I felt exactly like him whenever I watched KOR. The subsequent episodes were also fuzzy and really really nice. I didn't complete the series though, because I was on term break when I started it, and school had to resume so I couldn't sleep so late every night. Ever since then, I was ever so looking forward to watch this anime again for years. I even dreamt of a KOR ep one day (somewhat altered). It was particularly hard to find, until about 3 years after that somehow the local television decided to air Shin Kimagure Orange Road. Thereafter, I managed to obtain the DVD of the TV series, then the OVA, pilot, and the 2 movies. Oh yeh I'm 20 now btw. -- Why I like KOR. Partially why I loved KOR was because I watched it when I was really young (somehow I've already appreciated romance). I could really empathise with Kyousuke. At that time, I really didn't understood why Madoka did certain things (e.g. slapping him, became drunk and had mood-swings) and I was thinking "Hey why'd you slap him?!". She was so mysterious, plus she's like a bad girl reformed after meeting Kyousuke. It was quite touching to see her progress. Everything else was just so perfectly pieced together too, and there's this X-factor about it. The opening song (night of summer side xD), the characters, and the snapshot at the last part of the show just before the ed song. KOR's romance was top notch (still is), I got this feeling similar to nostalgia several times throughout the whole KOR series. It's just the best romance anime I've ever come across. |
