So... I just read this out of curiosity, and saw that every footage of the anime was lost in an accident.

I won't ask about the accident, but about the anime. Is it really nowhere to be found?

Yep the anime was lost with the exception of opening, ending, some screen of episode 1 through 3, 8, 12, 22, 25, audio voice of episode 14, 16, 18, 21 through 25. Episode 26 is the only episode which is survived from the accident but of course it is super rare and very hard to find it, and it is forbidden to upload in YouTube or any website (It is ok if just uploaded the audio of it episode) due of the animation studio of Doraemon 1973 was long lost now (Not to mention the fact the chairman of it animation studio having a robbery incident in Hong Kong back when Doraemon 1973 was still aired in TV), so Shin-Ei Animation (Current Doraemon anime studio and copyright owner) will gonna to deleted or banned the video.

Nope, actually there are copies of some episode with both video and audio, but the company that bought the copies doesn't want to re-aired them (by now); and there were copies in the Internet, but it was specified that only few people were able to enter the website and if someone posted something of those, it'd close, and it happened (the opening and ending sequences).

THIS IS MY FUCKING CHILDHOOD AND TECHNICALLY FIRST ANIME WHEN I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT IT AT ALL. the anime that peaked my interest in the genre though was kotoura san but this was my shit as a child. and technically my first anime.

my dad bought all the dvds because i absolutely loved it. but because i was a careless child, i mishandled and didnt take care of them so most of them right now are gone or either damaged beyond repair or use. RIPPERINO! well that's why you have the internet. i just want to say. i fucking love this show and cantonesing this shit is amazing.

I'm 90% sure that you're referring 1979 version not 1973 since that version was never releases on DVD (Nor it's even seen elsewhere in Japan), it's only both 1979 and 2005 version that does have a DVD releases.

Unless if you're around age 70 and more that lived in Japan during 1973 or your grandparents somehow have a VSH tapes of 1973 version.

Lol I didn't even getting upset about it, just try to correct you since there's some people mistakenly thought 1973 version is the one they watch during their childhood in 80s to early 2000s, even though it's 1979 version that aired in worldwide during that time.

It kinda is, aside from some specific things from the original version almost all of the japanese script has been lost, but at least the latin american dub isn't confirmed as 100% lost, so it could appear at some point, althought the last time it was shown on TV was around 2002, so its a complicated situation.

What are you talking about? This version of Doraemon had NEVER release in any other regions beside Japan, let alone a latin dub.

Seriously, how the hell people keep confusing this with the more famous 1979 version (Which actually does released outside Japan) when the art styles look completely different from each other?
