Anyone knows where the rest of the translations are? The only ones I know (i.e. kissmanga, mangareader, mangahere, etc.) only go up to Volume 5. I tried Batoto, but no luck.

No full "scanlation" exists. And nobody in his right mind will cut the Vertical release.

Anyway, the manga is available in different countries. For money, you know. And the french version who uses the regular edition is cheaper if needed.

@Kotenbo If "the same respect" is to cut apart such beautiful books then to distribute it for others to pirate freely, that's no respect toward the work. XD
As for Zeta, I recently started Define, who has already a better refined beginning over Zeta's first episodes but is not a sequel to "The Origin". It's still currently published. Too bad it is drawn by Zeta's other designer (the same person who draw Char's Deleted Affair, as an in-between for 0079 and Zeta) and not by Yasuhiko. I really don't like his drawing style. Just look at the characters:

Let's hope it smooth out most rough angles of Zeta.

That's a shame :(.

As for availability, that's fine, but I wish this manga would earn the same respect as Berserk or Hunter X Hunter does. Who knows. Maybe we could give Zeta the same manga treatment as the original.

That sounds a bit hypocritical to say considering how manga with darn good covers like Blade of the Immortal, Lone Wolf and Cub, and Nausicaa all are completely scanned even before or after they were finished translating. Given, Zeta could be given the Origin and Unicorn treatment by having a set of 6-something hour long episodes to clarify any events in the series.

It looks like they're releasing it monthly, and the latest chapter is 63. So to get all the way to the end will take at least 4-5 years Dx I might save up to buy the final books while I read all they have so far.

So why cant I find it after this volume?

No release ever since end of 2015, that is why I hate when they pick it up then stop working on it, or just release at a too slow place, fansubs are much better in that regard.

That is the final volume. Vertical's release is based on the 12 volume aizouban edition.

Vertical's release of this series actually gorgeous! Even if I don't end up liking the manga (I sure as hell won't though), I still want it in my collection.

is the comic walker version (linked above^) the completed manga?
it says there's 83 sections (or chapters) on that site but mal says there's 112 total?

the official english chapters are a monthly release so treat it as an ongoing manga even though the japanese version is already finished long time ago

aah thanks for the quick reply! fair enough ;o; just wanted to make sure the numbers were accurate.
i'm reading along with watching for the first time and the manga seems to go into a bit more detail with plot and even character personalities as well. i really love the art style too so i'm into the idea of purchasing it once the english release is done

i heard Gundam The Origin manga is better than the original Gundam anime that way since as you said it expands more or adds more details to the story

some fans even says just read this manga instead of watching the original Gundam anime

Currently 5 volumes in with the official release and I will say that, yes, you can definitely read it without watching the original show which I could understand a lot of people preferring. But being that I watched it before reading it I can say confidently that the story hits much harder if you've seen it first. It's remarkable the amount of small details are fixed or flow more naturally in the manga and when it diverges into telling events only hinted at in the original show is extremely cathartic especially because they're told VERY well. I'd even go as far to say that currently my favourite volume has been the fifth one which is about 95% original content never touched on in the anime as opposed to the previous four volumes which have been 95% content that is adapted from the anime.

Also for what it's worth I understand a lot of people don't have the time to experience both which is fair but if you do don't discount the original Gundam. I almost did and was going to settle on watching the movies which would've been a mistake. Like I said, this manga is really good and that's very much in part to do with the original story being so good. And the whole being cancelled thing while an issue if looked at more critically in isolation is a small problem as the final episodes still end up being the best in the whole anime.
