I don't know who is that strange girl at the end but that four-eyed girl left him anger mood. This isn't looking good at all for him.

The strange girl is his wife.

Anyway, can't help to wonder of much of this work is inspired by Inio's life. Can't wait to read all of it and try to understand where he is going with this story.

I haven't read any of Inio's previous works but is he really commenting on his own life as a manga artist and his impressions of the industry? Seems like quite a depressive outlook.

Asano loves to confuse his following readers and mix up truth and lies. He is kind of the same in interview (For the story, there was this very crunchy rumor about him wanting to undergo a sex change. And some very serious source took it as truth and refered to him as "her" in consequence.. MAL fell for it too on his author page, before removing it. haha)

And he is definitly having "fun" with this manga while also saying things he deeply think as well. What the character say in this chapter about the evolution of his mentality through the years ("in my teens; twenties; thirties") coincide with what Asano said about his changes of state of minds as a mangaka during is career.

Lying around the turn over box thrown at the end of the chapter, you can see that it's real pages coming from "Solanin" , one of his most liked work. I view it as a sort of little "game" between him and his fan (as myself) he is deliberately doing.

Interesting, thanks for the detailed account.

The change in mentality over the years is what I found most intriguing about this chapter but at the same time it also paints a very dispirited opinion, if that truly is his own outlook then I can't help but feel a little sad for him.

I haven't read Solanin yet but I do plan too, wish I could've caught onto the reference.

Asano always puts in his manga from what he sees in his surroundings, maybe that's why it turns out to be so realistic. For example, in Solanin, he said in an interview that he had some similar circumstances as the mc in the past. I have this feeling that asano's put a little of himself into fukasawa. His "meaningless" success(this is very much noticeable once you know about the sales when punpun was being serialized), his feelings towards the industry as a whole(notice that jab on hxh in first chapter), etc.

What the hell happened between Tomita and Fukazawa? Why would she assume he would stand in her way or talk bad about her to others?
