If it fits in logically and isn't a product of lacking decent character design or story that needs to be covered up, then it's perfectly fine with me, but I don't need it by all means. *points at Marimite*

Ah, I totally read 'a side of action' as meaning sex. (; -_-)

None of my favourite series have action in them, but I don't avoid it. Overall it's not a factor that would persuade or disaude me to watch something.

oh yeah! :)

thats my favorite combo! my 2 fave genre's together! Action+Yuri=instant fave of mine!!

(but i have to agree with celondor, as long as its not mecha its all good)

stuff like Mai Hime (where there's lots of good fight scene's to watch as well as yuri) = my fave type of anime!

I love action series with yuri. Well, just to say my definition of action may not be on the same level as other people's definitions but Simoun, Canaan, and El Cazador are my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th favorites in yuri and I also enjoyed Kiddy Grade, Noir, and Bakuretsu Tenshi(Burst Angel). I am also currently watching R.O.D the TV. Even Blue Drop had a tad action in it though the ending made me bawl my eyes out; and I can't say I really didn't enjoy Kannazuki no Miko but it was still all right. I feel action suits yuri better and would watch it over yuri comedy and drama anyday. One can make up many entertaining action stories and throw in yuri, however I feel that the school drama or unrequited coming out story can be done only so many times (and not always done sensibly either). Love seems to work well with some adrenaline and events that cause people to end up together and maybe even be driven to fight for one another. I don't like yuri comedy for some reason. I would enjoy romantic comedy no problem but I cannot enjoy a yuri comedy in the same way. If one were to consider Mouryou no Hako yuri, it's a good murder mystery/suspense to add in as well.

I'm even going to throw in, because I love action series, Kouya x Yamato from Loveless... which was done so beautifully and the only reason to date I watched a Yaoi, Mai-Hime (which I also didn't enjoy but it was all right; and I did not see Mai-Otome), and if you have the famous yuri goggles Ga Rei Zero (which had a great kissing scene), and Venus Versus Virus. I don't want to mention Strike Wtiches because I hated it, despite some not too shabby fight scenes, so it exists out there. PLUS Hayate x Blade is like a action/comedy yuri manga series that is one of my favorites that I DEMAND be made into an anime.

so action + yuri = win ^_^

I have nothing against it, but I enjoy a yuri with a simple romance/drama setting more than any action/yuri Anime

I actually prefer them not to.. I mean as long as it's not the main part of the storyline it's alright, but I'd rather focus on yuri than fighting action =)

I actually prefer action over yuri, and then tend to hardcore ship shoujo-ai pairings in shounen series (i.e. Yoruichi x Soi Fon in Bleach)....... But if I could have my cake and eat it too, sign me up for some of that sweetness.

I would love to see a few more works that combine the two. There are a few decent ones out there; Akuma no Riddle, Spec-ops Asuka and Urasekai Picnic, but the balance between action and romance has always felt a bit off for me (admittedly, I'm not that far into the Urasekai Picnic novel)

Anybody who's read my review of Shokei Shoujo knows that I don't necessarily need kissing or sex, but even then, a relationship that's good enough to be memorable is a rarity (Cyberpunk 2077 played through the lesbian route is also up there for me) :(

That said, I am writing an action-adventure yuri at the moment, where relationships are just as important as the action. Maybe the action and romance aren't directly combined and maybe not always explicitly displayed, but they are ever-present :)

I don't watch/read a lot of action anime/manga/lightnovel in the first place, so the answer is "no" for the most part.
One exception for me is "the executioner and her way of life" which I would define as a plot-driven action yuri comedy/drama ( a lot of tags I know, but it's good at everything it does, so I really like this light novel).
