What was Riku's intention regarding the black ash when he confronted the Elf about Aka Si Anse?

I may have missed the explanation, but I don't recall there being a reason for inhaling it.

With the black ash, enemies couldn't detect or identify him using magic. It's only said in the novel.

There are many other details that are coming out of nowhere if you didn't read the LN to be honest. I think it should have been a longer movie to cut off less events :s

To be honest that explains a lot about the ending as it left me a bit dumbfounded although well executed. I had picked up the LN a few years ago when NGNL first aired but the licencor hadn't published many volumes yet, now's the time to get to it I guess.

A little warning though. IIRC they released until volume 7 for now.... and it ends up in the middle of a game... LIKE IN THE CLIMAX OF IT !
Yeah I'm pretty frustrated about it for a year or two now. Don't start volume 7 before having the 8th. Just an advice.
