This show just keeps on improving in my eyes. I like that each case is helping the main characters develop and become closer.

We've added a new recurring character to the cast. I'm interested to see more of him.

^ I feel that too lol there's no need to give away your wife just because someone saved your life.. that's just weird, and they've been living together for over 20 years.. maybe they just enjoy some good 3some together like a wed couple that I know but it still feel so weird, especially the kids knowing about it

The NTR was strong in this one.

So basically she's a bitch and the husband did nothing only watching happily her secretary banging his wife and even has a child with her.

I feel bad for the third son! His brothers’ paintings told them to achieve their dreams and the father’s hopes for them and stuff. Whereas not only does he not get a sweet, encouraging message from his “dad,” he finds out his dad wasn’t even his actual dad xD

I still feel like the mystery solving portion of these episodes is rushed and disjointed.

On the other hand, I am happy to see the growth of Holmes and Aoi. Hopefully it continues down a good path. I'm really curious to see if Aoi will confront her bf later on.

detached or dangling earlobes versus attached are the ONLY inherited ear traits. if both parents have the dominant gene, their children are HIGHLY likely to all have attached earlobes. a 'mixed' pair of parents could have MOSTLY attached vs detached earlobed children. if BOTH parents have detached earlobes their children are merely HIGHLY likely to have detached earlobes.

it's kinda like how a ginger parent plus a parent with zero ginger traits in their family will seldom have ginger kids, as ginger physical traits are ALL recessive genes. earlobes and gingers are two of the most obvious and easily remembered physical traits being studied alongside The Human Genome Project. as gingers are statistically and genetically vanishing from Caucasian populations worldwide.

also, as a response to all the NTR idiots commenting on this episode in the previous years, get a clue all you morons! think harder on the episode, the first will left the wife NOTHING. the eldest and middle sons got the VAST majority of the estate while the youngest 'bastard' son himself said he got barely anything. the wife got an AQUAMARINE stone ring. know what a high rarity gemstone of that type is worth? like $1k per karat. know what kind the wife got? a worthless type, that was CLEAR! dark blue to turquoise aquamarine stones are the ONLY ones worth anything. so that ring? it might as well be COSTUME jewelry with a glass or plastic stone... except for the band itself, maybe she can sell that for scrap metal prices.

also, the kids are all in their 20's now. the bastard just turned 20, the middle one is at least 25+ and the eldest looks almost 30. so, the wife was 'faithful' for around two and a half DECADES and finally slept with 'the secretary' once, or twice, or maybe a few times... she got pregnant, made sure her husband was satisfied humping in and around her finding out she was pregnant... but hubby figured it out somehow, maybe a secret paternity test. then mommy gets pissed at the first will and the second will's cheap reproduction wall hanging scrolls... i doubt she figured out the scrolls' stories though. unless she was a well-educated art historian or student in her younger years... or self-educated in antique Japanese art. perhaps the wife took the first appraiser aside after the scrolls were examined and had him explain their backgrounds to her. because the sons didn't know crap about em.

sending his final messages to his sons via those scrolls was indeed a genius move, but also a sad one since he was about to reveal that something happened between his wife and his secretary years ago that resulted in the third son, whom he raised as his own. i think the widow realized what the third scroll's message was & wanted to spare her youngest from finding out, but still, the two oldest were inquisitive and wanted to know so holmes told them. late husband was still magnanimous & freely gave his wife a guilt-free conscience of pursuing what she started 20 years ago.
