When I was reading this article, the first thing that popped in my mind was ARIA the Animation. I found it so captivating. The manga was written several years (2001/2002) before the actual part of the story (2006) unfolding in that article.

I didn't realize cats can actually fill in a role in real life. I am so glad I stumbled upon this article tonight. :)
