should i watch gunbuster before i watch diebuster

looks like a very different show, just being in the same universe. is the story a continuation of gunbuster or is it just set in the same place?

Watch Gunbuster first. You'll see why once you've finished both shows. They're both pretty short, anyway.

Also, this is just a matter of taste, but I enjoyed Gunbuster more than Diebuster.
