----------------------------------------
This was another chapter that left a big mark on me. Last chapter was a reminder that Tokimasa could get some solo content and here we have something I was hoping. Kameyama centered content! This chapter was insane and it even featured one striking Taki moment.

Kameyama is absolutely in the Seki school of thought. He came in going all out and left a mark. As if to parallel the “three nine” we saw last chapter, we have Kameyama stare down some Wizards to get Moriken to come out. With a confident “you in charge of these guys?”, a declaration of their presence and why it will float, and a fast punch to the face. A punch of revenge coming from Seki’s spirit right after Moriken mentioned the last scouts who came here. Everyone was nervous, and you could see Kameyama’s true motivations coming out. He brought Moriken to their club so that he could get some time with Taki and some answers about Seki. Bold and awesome stuff. I feel the action shots have actually gone down hill, I prefer the older ones. They still have the snappy, instant blows and impact, but perhaps it’s the more minimal drawings for the action and the lack of impact paneling which gets to me. For instance when Ushio hit Soga in the Yamikin arc I felt weird about that drawing, it took me out of the story. Here I found it awesome but I miss some of the older action shots. Then again, I could be wrong here because Fukawa tearing up the yamikin office was some of the best stuff in the manga.

After that Kameyama confidence we had one of the most memorable Taki moments. After that discussion with Hayama something happened and he is covered in blood. He enters and point blank wishes Kameyama some sarcastic luck, enough to send the bold Kameyama into some fear. Taki isn’t my favorite character so far, he hasn’t shown us enough under the skin, he’s been a threatening presence and a cruel one but it doesn’t go that much farther than that, so far at least. I must say that his threatening presence is well depicted though. Here was one of my top 3 moments of his, that was so merciless it gave me some chills. The others would probably be Taki driving over to Tatsuhiko as they get surrounded showing his eyes and control over the city, that was perfection. And then his second introduction when he was hollowing out that scouts hand in front of a crowd.

Lastly, we saw Seki again, this time smoking and thinking. It’s pretty rare for him to smoke, I think that’s significant and it looks like we might jump into his past! Once I drew a young Seki fanart and thought about the kind of people Burst’s executives were as they were starting out so this should be interesting and I’m excited.
