Poor Yamagami... Can't catch a break. His own subordinates treat him like a plaything or rather see him as a guinea pig. LOL. I like Yamagami's character. He's quite active and most importantly, gets the job done.

Suwa is a nice guy as well. His meeting with that girl was pretty interesting. I wonder what he was looking for there. For a girl of her age, it must be pretty hard for her. But, as she said, that's the only place she can call home.

It was funny seeing Yamagami trying to figure out the Ultrasonic communication but failing at it. LOL, The episode got pretty intense at the end. Luckily Kurusu got there in time to rescue Yamagami.
Also, RIP Akesato girl. She just wanted to hear a song. Felt bad for her. She deserved better. That little cliffhanger tho.

Another vampire case in Choyaro, and a dead whore at that. And trying to fold the entire military forces if Code Zero doesn't deliver, no wonder money is the root of all evil. I still find Aoi's inclusion in this "paper trail" of sorts kinda jarring.

Hmm, Yamagami's the weakest of the Code Zero vampires, he's an easy bait. And Rufus Glenn is certainly an Ascra lead from the looks of it. The moment of reconciliation between the prostitute Akesato and Suwa I find to be very story-like as such from a theatrical POV.

The vampire hunting game continues, and the culprint's not just one, but many lurking within Yoshiwara. Kurusu has strengthened just a bit, and Suwa mourns the loss of Akesato.

Pretty standard episode, and looks like Aoi's boss is also another Ascra person.

Suwa without mask is so hot! I want to be a prostitute if I met a client as hot as him! I'm wondering if Suwa is ok with male prostitute. He doesn't have to sing for me as I'm only interest in his personal "microphone"

I'm questioning Kurusu the most, a bright passionate guy with high moral is very mentally fragile. I think there might be a point where he could turn into a villain, but since he's very loyal to Maeda, he'll find a proper solution.

Damn looks like maeda will become a vamp. Fitting turn of events. Felt bad for the prostitute. She had a kind soul, but unfortunate life. Rufus is going to be a problem. His true intentions are still a mystery. Pretty good episode. Slowly but surely, we’re learning more about the world. Show is getting better and better too.

I like how Kurusu is extremely powerful but also very innocent. Imagine if a bad person had his powers.

We see some development on Suwa this episode. It appears that the death of Akesato was a real wake up call to him, and the severity of the feral vampire epidemic.

Yamagami really tried to give a speech to that crowd of zombie-vampires, huh? Fortunately Kurusu made it just in time to save him. We see his character develop with him managing to work up the courage to disregard the vampires in favour for saving his friends life, as per the advice he'd received earlier in the episode.

Not everyone else is safe however, as Maeda seems to be in some trouble, and end the episode with a cliffhanger ;w;

Suwa's rapid attachment to the young prostitute is strange. I wonder if there is something more behind that or at least something to explain it. I mean he was only with her for like 3 minutes on the pretense of looking for prostitute vamps I assume.

Also the one dude who seemed to be helping out Nakajima or w/e seems to be a little sketch.

Suwa face reveal. It's too bad that the girl he just met died just like that. It must be hard living like an immortal.

Having the individual episodes be structured around different theatre productions impacts how cohesive the narrative is. However, I feel the overarching plot does a decent job connecting it all together.

While the relationship between the white-haired vampire and the prostitute was short-lived, their dialogue together was strong enough to make her death feel like it mattered a bit.

We got some action this time around. Not as strong as the first two episodes, but enough to make me satisfied.

Some decent comedy with the weakest vampire too.

we got more info on suwa, he wears the mask because he'll lose control if he doesn't though he can take a few seconds(minutes?) without it. he was also turned into a vampire on his early teens and is now 300ish yrs old lmfao. the little (romance?) story with him and the 15 yr old prostitute was also pretty nice. the training session with kurusu and maeda was nice, maeda is still hella strong for a human dang. and kurusu lives up to his A rank. reporter girl also hangs out with blonde kid a lot now lol

Well, its looks like there were too many conspiracies goin on at the same times. That military man cooperated with the British vamp supplier, then them turned the supplies into a trap-r&d liquor, became the source of the chaos in the case zone. The way the brothel place turned into such a mess with a lot of wild vamps. Its almost made poor unranked Yamagami dying, and got Suwa lost the control, i think. Interesting that its give a little characterization to Suwa's shallow personality. Too bad its only last for a second, cause the focus shall be changed to another point. Good thing that Kurusu slowly become a better soldier, when its somehow almost too late. Better than nothing, i see. Then, once again, Maeda got a heart trouble, and the blonde boy vamp attended to give a well-noted signal. Next!

Good episode! Damn, Maeda is pretty strong for a human, Kurusu went light speed into Maeda's fist lmao. Poor Yamagami, being the weakest vampire of the group, dude can't catch a break.

That story between Suwa and Akesato was short, but it was pretty good, I wonder how that'll affect Suwa moving forward. Deffrot is definitely one of those british vamps or something, but I think he's not like fully aligned with them.

Wonder what's wrong with Maeda, is it just heart problems or something related to vampirism? We'll find out eventually, looking forward to the next episode.

Using yagami as bait xD What an amazing group of vampires. Maede might turn into a vampire next ep? Probably not, just a heart attack. The ED is a banger!

RIP Akesato, Lived a short and sad life.

Of course, Defrot is associated with the British vampires. Blond = British. However, he's probably different from them.

The reporter is good at her job, too bad the paper she writes for is more about fluff pieces.

Proud of Kurusu for standing up and saving his partner.

Suwa looked so vulnerable and hot with his weird outfit. lol

Didn't think we'd see Suwa's face. I thought he was one of those characters whose face stayed hidden through most of the story.

The girl's age made me really sad.

Not sure if the male vampires were prostitutes too. If they were, I guess it's nice that the anime acknowledged their existence. Linfamy had said poor people sold their kids regardless of their gender, and I am just going to believe he did his research.

I can tell that Kurusu is important because of his protagonist-like design and powers, but he feels like a side character for some reason.

I don't get the importance of the reporter girl. Feels like she's just there, and that's it.

Need to become a prostitute with 15 years old, and die in a damp alley having her blood sucker, that's just depressing.

I wouldnt doubt that Maeda is having a heart attack, after I have my doubts if he even slept since becoming the unit commander, needing to command soldiers daytime, and the vampires at night.

After episode 4:
My prediction: Maeda will die. Can't wait to see how the ending of this good anime ends, but really, I suspect that Maeda will die unless he become a vampire. We can see a lot of foreshadowings. and if he ever become vampire, I would also guess that Kurusu bite him considering how the story and relationship built up.

but man, ep 4 is a little bit sad. As a 300yrs old vampire, Suwa might see something in the 15 yrs old prostitute which explain why hes a bit attached to her.

Cant get over the ending theme, its too good for my ears :)

Still not really sure what's going on in this show but I couldn't stop laughing at Yamagami's voice trying to contact the others. Suwa without his mask is hot. I was kinda hoping the prostitute would somehow become a vampire and be with him but oh well.

I just keep on getting more confused as the series go on. Don't get me wrong I'm absolutely in love with this anime I love the premise and the animation and I'm starting to love the characters as well (Suwo) but boy am I confused. apparently each episode is based off of a poem or something? I'm not really sure but I have a lot of questions, it might be because I'm dumb though.

What part of the story confuses you? Each episode (as for now) deals with themes which are connected to poems, films or other kind of works; episode 4 is linked with the Imperial Hotel for example. While these connections make the events way more meaningful and deep, they can be hard to understand (unless you already know what they're talking about or do some research after each episode) but they're not needed to understand the main plot and the characters. The story seems to be straightforward (plus political conspiracies) but with the addition of various subplots and themes (Aoi and Defrott, Aoi and Kurusu, Maeda and his health, ...). I'd be happy to explain what you didn't get about the story if you're more specific!

As long as the story is clear it's not a problem at least! If you want to go deeper into those poems I suggest reading some comments in the weekly reddit discussions, such as https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/mpjiim/mars_red_episode_2_discussion/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

There a few users who always do some research and give nice explanations of all the cultural references. I would love the show even without them but once you get both the story and the references you realize how good the writing of this show is!

At first those two vampires really pissed me off because of them being so useless but I'm glad that Maeda's advice worked and Kurusu finally could do something worth it.

Suwa is actually quite good-looking without the mask, I had to take a moment to make my head upside down to appreciate his looks.

I wonder if Deffrot is going to play the evil role...

The levels in different vampires are huge. Can't even do the basic sonic talk.

The little suspicious vampire I always thought of as neutral but it looks like he's part of something way bigger. And his partner was talking to one of the military guys?

Also I always figured the MC was a vamp too let's see.
