| I'm watching Akira for the first time today, and at the 17'minute mark a sign appears reading "Tokyo Olympics, 147 days to the opening ceremonies". Given that the movie takes place in 2019, unless I'm missing something, that would mean that Akira correctly predicted that Tokyo would be hosting the Olympics in the year 2020. For obvious reasons that didn't happen, still thought it was kind of wild. |
| There were a million junk website articles when it was announced that Tokyo would be hosting. Me and some friends even joked about the Olympics not happening due to some disaster at the time... Oops |
