| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I was very impressed how Atom clanged on the unique remnant sign of humanity form Rock's soul to save his heart! What's most touching is that Atom could see it! He could see that there was still hope! This is how far Atom's love for humans and his trust in them goes! I can't stop being amazed each time how Osamu Tezuka presented a robot that harbors the most noble traits of the human nature! I imagine that's the whole point in building highly-advanced AI after all. Well, Atom's faith was definitely not wasted! This is the first Tezuka anime where I see Rock becoming a good person. The scene where he saves Atom from being hit was so touching and heartwarming that it made me tear up! Another aspect that I liked was that the Fire Bird talked about the combined efforts of humans and robots being able to prove worthy of its energy. What I appreciated was that it implied none of the humans and robots were enough separately. It was necessary that they collaborated and that they were together! It highlighted that humans and robots had unique traits that were not replaceable or interchangeable. |
