Doubtful, since Carl Jr's is an American family company.

However, I'm sure an artist or someone visited a Carl Jr's, maybe in San Francisco or you know a friend of a friend being a tourist taking pictures.

So the artist got the word and images and used that as a reference.

You should see what a manga artist goes through visual-wise for reference material.

Ah... J.C. Staff, lol JC Penny's would have been a better rag for the company.
