The case study of vanitas was quite good. I will say overall it is the best vampire anime of its genre. It does deserve more popularity because the animation and characters are well developed. Pacing could have been better.

Don't go by popularity on mal, vanitas no carte is really very popular it's just mal users doesn't watch it.

Ratings doesn't matter only enjoyment does.
Masterpiece or mid, generic or fresh,best or worst are all subjective
Eren is goat,and aot is still a masterpiece (eg.subjective opinion)

Tbh for me this is one of the best shows in 2021 and can’t wait for part 2 to start. As for popularity and ratings. It doesn’t matter to me since it ain’t gonna make me enjoy it less

its definitely popular and liked by many, idt it just hits with the majority of mal users. not the kind of humor/style most peoole here instantly adjust to(?) idfk how to word this but i think the score is fine rn, boosting it to a clean 8 would be cool tho

I am kinda unhappy like how most of the big anitubers just ignored it by just seeing poster if they make a video or even talked about it then it's going to be a huge hit on mal(in terms of popularity atleast).

Most big Anitubers gave loads of praise to Odd Taxi. Yet it has 55k less MAL members than Vanitas and the gap keeps growing.

I already expected that if the anime adaptation was going to 'break out' in popularity, it was going to be during the 2nd cour, not the slower paced 1st cour as the author's work usually has slow starts.

I heard good things about the manga and looking forward to 2 nd cour

I've honestly learned to just ignore the opinions of big anitubers at this point, I was hoping they would have acknowledged Vanitas no Carte too but I didn't hear a peep about it which is a real shame but the truth is that most big anitubers appeal to the lowest common denominator of mainstream battle shounen/school romance/slice of life/isekai trash and tend to disregard almost anything that doesn't fit that category.

I would say both but if i have to choose one it would be popularity.
However most people are unable to break down the series(Considering its by Jun), not to mention alot of viewers cant fathom the fact that part 1 is basically an intro...ANd add some elitists and walah..There you go...
But whatever i guess
